so I took my 328 into a very respectable garage and they gave me an estimate of $325 for front brake pad, caliper but no rotor replacement.
#2
i also took it into a import shop and they said 450 for the rotor, pad and caliper replacement along with fluid flush.
I think I may need new rotors because I went to brake yesterday really hard (some idiot faked a turn and stopped hard, causing me to do the same) and I heard a metallic deep grinding sound. not good. where should I take it?

I would do it myself but I just don't have any time and I need this done asap......

Caliper replacement is rare. Are you confident that they are trying to stick for extra parts? If you heard grinding what is shop 1 doing about the rotors? Are they turning them? I would say option 2.

dude, just do it yourself and save $100+. then, when someone asks you what you did last weekend, you can say you did your own brakes and feel good about it.

yeah i would do it myself, but I just dont have any time, and it needs to be done asap. shop 1 would just turn the rotors. plus shop 2 provides brembos

The "deal" at shop sounds a little better now. New rotors and thye will flush and blled the brake system. If you have to pay that is not the worst deal.
