I love the look of the OEM coupe spoilers on E36 M3's, but I'm really hesitant to make a cosmetic change like this that I can't reverse later on if I get tired of it. What should I do? :help

It honestly depends on what type of wheels you have and such. I really like the look of the car without a spoiler if its lowered and has a subtle wheel. It makes the car blend in and have a tasteful feel to it.

You could consider a lip spoiler (M5/E46 M3 style) since they are just stuck to the car with double sided foam tape, but again, it breaks the flow of the car.

OEM Spoilers have always made me smile. It seems to me, that BMW made the e36's OEM spoilers as tasteful as possible.

With that being said, it really depends on how low your car is and what kind of suspension you are running. Color plays a rather minimal role in this matter, to me at least.

I guessing you are going to get it color matched and such if you get one? Well, as with any modification, it'll be an investment that can always come off. Not easily, or nicely, but if you absolutely hate it- It isn't a necessity.

Yea, I agree that it really depends on how the rest of the car is done. I am personally partial to the ACS 3 peice rear trunk spoiler, but probably will end up getting something like a E46 lip trunk spoiler.

Agreed.. I think a tasteful spoiler makes just as much of a visual improvment as a nice set of wheels...

I say you go for it.

spoiler looks really good, especially on coupes.

however, do be aware that it is HEAVY! :) i like the way mine looks, but wish now that i could ditch it for some more weight saving...

if you got the cash, get the uuc 3 way adjustable CF wing. it can be reversed since it clamps on your trunk. only problem is its $500.

I love the oem spoiler on my car.
I was considering changing out to the uuc also, but don't know if there's going to be any visible holes on my trunk.
I concur that the spoiler is truely heavy. Makes it easy to close the trunk though. :D

I think it comes down to personal preference. I think the coupes look good with it, where the sedans look better without it. Here are a few pics of mine... :D

I like both but I like wingless a little bit better. Our cars look nice and clean that way.

Spoiler gives it a sportier look, a little more aggressive IMO. Especially silver M's:D

Get a clip type one. Mine is a Hartage clips on the trunk lid. I like the spoiler look better.

I personally think since the M3 has a front lip that juts out it needs a *bit* of a rear lip. So heres my take on it:
