how can i tell if an airbag is a 1 stage of 2 stage airbag? this is an airbag for a 3 spoke steering wheel. and the seller has listed part numbers, i believe.

e36-single stage, e46-dual stage.

but wasnt there some airbags made for the 3 spoke steering wheel, thats in the 98.5 and later M3s, dual stage?

There are 3 spoke airbags in both flavors. Single stage has a4 wire plug, dual stage has a 6 wire plug.

how can i tell the difference in a picture? theres a guy selling one on ebay and i would like the buy it but i dont know if its single or dual. he has pics posted and he has the part numbers on the back of the airbag in one of the pics.

these r the only numbers on the airbag in the pic: ASG PN 565146906, BMW 33222937004R, ASG 01B011SA00444. those r the only numbers on the bag.

what car is it coming off of? and what wheel is it for? is it the big round air bag or the little "t" style one?

seller didnt post what car its coming off of. its for the 98.5 plus style 3 spoke steering wheel, big and round.

Send the guy an email and ask if the bag has a 4 wire or 6 wire plug.

MAn, just look at the picture. There are 6 wire going into the plug... Dual stage.

i saw that but in my past experince BMWs have away of not being that straight forward.
