My brake pedal ticks at idle every 3 sconds or so... Anyone else ever have this? Is it normal? It started a year ago, but I've just ignored it.

Also, clutch squeak. Every time I push the pedal in......'sssssssqqqqqqquuuuuuueeeeeeaaaaaakkkkk':c onfused
Tried lacing it with WD-40, helps fo rlike 5 minutes, then its back. Any ideas?
Thanks

Clutch pedal is a bushing, I think UUC or someone makes an "upgraded" replacement. Dunno what the pedal ticking is all about tho... :dunno

Can't help with the brake pedal, but the clutch squeaks on all E36's at some point. You can replace the bushings to eliminate the squeak. You can buy the clutch pedal bushings here:

http://www.understeer.com/onlinestore-shifters.shtml

And there's a DIY on the forums on how to replace it. Do a search and you'll find it.

does it tick when you have the brake pressed or when your foot is off the pedal?

Thanks for the DIY guys. I'll need to do that soon.

As for the brake pedal issue, I can feel it when I have the break pedal in (pressed), and then if I take my foot off, I can hear "tick....tick.....tick" Like a heart beat, haha

Yes, the ticking you feel is the expansion tank evaporative fuel recovery system thing. Whatever they call it. I think that they later mounted it on a small rubber bushing and it eliminated the tick. Its just shaking the brake master cylinder, which makes the tick noticable on your brake pedal. Nothing to be worried about.
