I picked up some new tranny oil for my 5spd and I'm contemplating how to get it in there.

I'm thinking I either run a tube down or use some type of syringe or pump.

Anyone have any input on how they've managed it in the past?:95

I've used a pump. They cost about $2 from your local auto parts store.

I was in Autobone the other day and I couldn't find anything I thought would work. I'll swing by NAPA today...see what they got.

Thanks--

Kragen had 'em here. $2.99 or some such.

The one I got actually was by Valvoline (I think).. It screws on the top of a standard quart bottle of tranny fluid.

I have fooled around with other jury rigs before... this is the only way to do it without making a mess.

Picked one up at NAPA-- 13 bucks. It's not that kind though...it looks like an old grease gun and it holds a pint of fluid. You can use it to empty or fill. It looked like it was worth 13 bucks.
Thanks for the input--

K-Mart should have one, about 10 bucks I think.

i've used something similar and it worked better than the ones from the autoparts stores.

I changed my tranny and differential fluid in my M3 today in fact. I used my pump that screws into the top of a quart bottle to pump the fluid in there. The pump I have is for filling outboard motor lower units and I picked it up at Wal-Mart for about $5.00. To use it for this application, I just have to remove the threaded piece off the end of the hose that screws into the outboard motor. Also, it doesn't fit the larger tops of the Mobil 1 ATF bottles, but I had no problem setting it on top of the bottle and pumping away. It did fit the Mobil 1 Syn differential fluid bottle just fine, but the pick-up tube wouldn't get that last 0.2 quart or so of fluid out (tall quart bottle). After I got all I could out of the first bottle, I then did the same with the second bottle. I then poured what was left from the first bottle into the second and was able to fill the differential up (total capacity 1.8 qts).
