1) squeaking sound coming from the front... varies with RPM level... sometimes goes away...
2) when i start up the car, sometimes, i can hear a small sound from the rear for a few seconds... sounds like in a trans am when the power antenna goes up/down.. just a really quiet grinding sound for a short period of time
3) after i park, the back seat really smells kinda like fuel...

The squeaking sound could be the altenator or the belt tensioner.
As for the others i am totally clueless...the fuel one might scare me though.

i'm wondering if the last 2 both have to do with the fuel pump?

Id guess the fuel pump as well...its right under the rear seat so it makes sense

I had the same squeak on my 325, replaced the alternator and voila it was gone.
The sound thing leaves me confuzzled, your trans am detail makes it easier for me to understand though.

1. Replace the belts and the idler and tensioner pullies. It may not require rerplacing all three items, but all of the parts are inexpensive. Doing the all at once should same you some time, too.
2. & 3. You may have a leak in the seal around the tank mounted fuel pump. If you pull the back seat out, I would be suprised if you don't find a pool of gas on top of the tank. I had this same problem on my 94 325. I new seal fixed both problems. I didn't to the work myself, so I don't know if it is a DIY job.
