I went to coilovers on my 88 325i conv. reciently and I was wondering if I bought a 96 m3 engine would I have to change my suspension.
also can anyone give me the weight differences if possible.
and ifyou know of anyone that did it and did a write up or know of one can you post it or give me the link.
Finally what would I have to change out in order for it to work.
Thanks
Drew

its a heavy engine, I don't know the exact weight but it would affect your handling. if you wanted to get an engine that would help retain your weight balance you might want to consider an M52B28. Its a Z3 engine that is aluminum so it is very light. It's only 191hp out ofthe box but that is a lot for an E30.

the best way to learn to do an engine transplant is to get the Project Orca CD from Zionsville Autosport. They have done many conversions and everyone who has switched to an newer engine has said the CD is priceless.
