Consumer Rated Condition: Good
"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history , the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.

Private Party Value Search Local Listings | List This Car for Sale $3,175
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

Actually KBB says $5200 for good condition, not $3000, which is what the two that posted before wish they could buy this car for. $5800 for excellent condition, which is what the seller is claiming the vehicle is in. People don't go by e36bimmerjunkie blue book or matt380 blue book, they go by kelley blue book. I'm tired of people that aren't interetsed in purchasing a vehicle feel we need they're blessing on an asking price for anything. He posted an asking price, you can accept it, counter-offer, or move on. How would you like it if you posted your car for sale and someone replied that he felt its worth 2 cents? Rooster good luck with your sale, pics would be nice and more details.

While many people would think $6400 is a little steep for the car in question, posting pics (www.photobucket.com) would help determine the condition of the car and might help justify your asking price. Just a suggestion.

i do apologize. my posting of kbb price was for a 1993, not a 1995. but even with the change to a 1995 and excellent condition, it is still not the $6400 claimed by the OP. the poster even admits that it is not in excellent condition, but good condition. the is no ulterior motive in posting the correct price other than making sure the OP understood that $6400 would be hard to come by, especially when based on flawed information.

no, prices are not based on matt380 blue book. NOR, are they based on kbb. that was the only point i was trying to make. not one drop of my thinking what it is worth.

I am a dealer i deal with these cars all the time. NO 10 year old car with 213K miles is going to be in excellent condition unless there was a full restoration and complete drivetrain rehaul. If these conditons are met the car would fall under the excellent catergory otherwise a well maintained vehicle will fall into the good catergory because of the all the unseen wear and tear from driving over 20k miles every year. My $3000 mark was aimed at wholesale price, which is auction price LIKE I STATED. Prices are as follows 1995 325is

ABOVE AVERAGE $6479 59,000 miles

AVERAGE $4483 110,000 miles

BELOW AVERAGE $2487 161,000 miles

These are all industry averages I don't make these numbers up.

there is no way a 13 year old car is in excellent condition.you would have to rebuild the power steering pump ,the driveshaft, the wheel bearings, the brakes, the water pump ,and since you are a used car guy anyway I would be very hard pressed to believe a f'ing thing you have to say GOOD DAY!!!!

You're pretty much guaranteed the drivetrain is on its last string and probably same for the engine. Have any suspension components been replaced? If not you might as well swap out damn near everything there. I won't get in to engine accessories, gaskets, seals, and all the other random stuff that will crap out on you. You really didn't include anything about the car particularly the maintenance record which is important for high mileage cars. I'd feel bad for the guy who paid over 6K for a pain in the ass.

Also, you're acting like a fool...

You might as well put it up on Autotrader or cars.com. With the attitude and ignorance you have shown on this board you'll be lucky if anyone offers you what you paid for it.

Why would you put $4300 in a car that you're going to sell in less than 4 months? Sounds like some BS to me. Kind of like all the other cars you have tried to sell with no maintenence history.

The value of the BMW in question, according to KBB, for private party seller in good condition is $5,220 period. That being said, because someone bought something for a certain price in no way obligates them to sell it for the same amount. Although the seller seems to be somewhat of a jackass, and I personally wouldn't buy from him, the car is worth what it's worth. Who here can say that a BMW is garbage after 200k? If a BMW is maintained properly and taken care of 300k, maybe 400k, is attainable. If we were taking about a different make vehicle 200k is alot.
