You are looking at a Showroom condition 95 M3. This car has less then 35,000 miles. I have never seen a 95 M3 in better condition. The car is Alpine White with a black leather interior. The car was bought with all available options including 18 button onboard computer, heated seats, 6 disc cd player, and a sunroof. I made some modifications to the exterior to give it the more aggressive sports package features. This included the OEM front lip spoiler and OEM mesh-type grill. I have the stock wheels that are included with the sale of the car. This car has been garaged and covered for its entire life. It has never been out in the winter, and has been caught out in the rain on countable occasions. Both the exterior and interior of this car are spotless. The car has never been in any form of an accident and the paint is a 10 out of 10. There are matching VIN's on all of the body panels. The interior is also spotless. The leather was treated twice a year, and there are no signs of wear. The headliner is also in perfect condition and shows no signs of wear. The car is hard-wired for a Valentine One radar detector and the concealed display. It is also wired for an XM Radio satellite receiver. With the modifications this car really pulls. Turner claims that there is a 40hp gain. The UUC exhaust sounds great. It has a subdued crisp sound at low rpm's and really screams when you get on it. European Car Web chose the UUC System U as their number 1 exhaust for this car.
http://www.europeancarweb.com/tech/0301ec_techbmw/index.html
The H&R Coil Over Suspension is the perfect suspension choice for the street, track or both. The car has no body role, and handles like it's on rails. This suspension setup absorbs bumps really nicely. Driving this car is a real treat. The Coil Overs give you the ability to dial in your suspension as desired.
The Motorsport Flag decal is simply a decal, and can be removed if desired. The oil was changed on this car every 2500 miles only using Mobil 1.
All suspension modifications were done by professionals at a BMW/Porsche racing shop, Lynmor Motors.
http://www.lynmor.com/
Some inconsiderate person decided to steal my BMW hood emblem last week. This will be replaced before the sale.
List of Tasteful Modifications:
H&R Coil Over Suspension
Front: adj. -1.5"-2.5" / Rear: adj. -1.0-1.75". A perfect suspension for cars driven on the street, track, or on both. Progressive-rate springs with finely-tuned shocks combine for a sportier ride with great bump absorption on the street and a setup that keeps up with you on the race course. Blueprinted as coil overs (not just a modified shock body like our competitor's), the H&R units are hand made in Germany by H&R Spezialfedern, under ISO 8001 Quality Assurance Standards. This suspension is all you will ever want or need. Special H&R Coil-Over Wrenches are included in this price.

These are 5 x 120 hubcentric spacers for a wheel with a 72.5mm centerbore. Longer wheel bolts are required with these spacers. The TMS hub extenders are made of high-grade, lightweight aircraft aluminum. They will press into a stock 72.5mm (Oustide Diameter.) Hub extenders are used to help keep the wheel centered and are extensions of the stock wheel hub. They are needed if a TMS 8mm or 10mm wheel spacers are used. They will also work with H&R 5mm spacers! Each hub extender is anodized for protection and corrosion resistance.

E36 M3 1995 Conforti Euro Intake Kit

Nice car.
I am in the same boat as you, lot of potential buyers, no argument on price, but know one has cash at hand.
One problem I found, these cars are worth every penny with low miles but banks have a hard time to lend money and hold title of a car this age. They don't like to loan out so much on such an old car even with 0 miles on the ODO.
I have had a few people who wanted my car but needed a straight loan for the car Vs. maybe getting a HELOC to purchase the car and write off the interest. Hence some of the people were still in school but had a parent willing to sign for the loan but didn't want to put their house against the car loan if something were to happen.
I think Ebay is kind to those with lower mileage cars but harsh on higher mileage cars.
Roundel no excuse will find an enthusiast who will probably appreciate the car.
Good luck on the sale, eventually the car will sell for good money.

Im actually in the market for exactly what you are selling, a low mileage 95 M3, BUT blue book value just doesnt match up, and regardless of what some may say, modifications just dont really add that much value.
Id consider it if it werent so far off the blue book value.

I dont know what the bluebook is...but having searched for a low mile e36 myself when I was shopping, there arent too many left with low miles. (The lowest I found was 19k miles and bought it.) The point of this: You might consider the premium as a reflection of the low mileage and excellent condition.
Also, although you never recoup your mod expenditures, they are worth some $$ to potential buyers who are looking to modify the car in the same manner. (a rough approx. is that you should get 40-50% of their value back when you sell the car.)
Nice car...:buttrock

I agree. All the low mileage e36's M's ive found are 98 and 99's. now to the typical buyer, why would onewant to buy a 95 over a 99? For some of us, we prefer the 3.0 liter motor, but for the majority, the 99 is the b etter option at the same price.
I will mod my e36,a nd I understand your statement, but buying a car ridiculously over blue book is not rational just for the low miles.
I just went ot kbb.com and put in a 95 M3 with 30,000 miles. Every option, including those that werent even options like DVD navigation and F and side air bags.
Price came out $13,510
Sorry.

I'm not arguing with you there..I have an obd1 3.2 in my car and wouldnt want to go back to the 3.0 if I had the opportunity.

Thats true, but you should give some consideration to the mileage when making an offer or considering the price.

Thats actually depressing..I did the same thing but didnt add extra options, only the ones I actually have. My value (Private party) is only $11,905:lol That doesnt mean I would put my car up for sale for that amount, though. (I value my low mileage and mods...and my mods alone cost more than the listed KBB value of the car..:eyecrazy )
Sorry.
Dont be sorry..;) I do understand your points though.

Kelley Blue Book is a joke. You cannot go by those numbers. The N.A.D.A is the real deal and it states the value at $17,125 without the MODS...The car is 100% flawless!!!!!:alright
Eric BMW
10-13-2005, 03:31 AM
Oddly enough, ive never heard of N.A.D.A. before. So I look it up, and with 35,000 miles it gave me...
Low Retail: $14,000
Average Retail: $15,950
High Retail: $17,125
Now there are not that many mods to raise it to this asking price. Well not eactly the mod im looking for (forced induction).
When you consider buying a car you have to understand what the population will use as a reference for buying the car off of you. If I buy this car and want to sell it later, who is going to offer me the NADA value? The standard, sadly, is to use the Kelly Blue Book value.
What ive noticed earlier is that it seems that you, BMW4LIFE, and Danimal, are quite possibly the same person, related, or friends. Maybe a moderator can do a IP check if they would like. You both have the same cars and are from the same area.
And by the way, what i really appreciate is that the seller did not inflate the price for the mods when listing them. Smart move and it's nice to see some honest sellers out there!

Eric, Danimal and I are friends. You can do an IP check if you like but you will see they are different.
If you search the forums you will find that i just sold a highly modded 95 M3 here recently.
Being that I am the only bimmerforum member (other than the owner of course) who has driven the car, I can testify that it is a 100% perfect example of a low mileage M3.
There are very few clean, accident free (ALL VIN#' s match on the body panels), low mileage, non-blinged out M3's left and this is one of them. It is worth over what KBB and N.A.D.A publish as high/excellent retail value with or without the mods...

FYI, NADA is used for insurance claims. If your car is totaled, you should get the NADA value for it vs. the Kelly Blue Book value.
NADA = insurance related payout prices
KBB = purchase or sale GUIDELINES.
True, you most likely cannot get a loan for much more than the NADA price for the reason that the bank would not be able to resell and cover their expense if you vouched on the loan. Kinda like an appraisal on a house. OK, I'm rambling about stuff you already know, sorry.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the comments.
This car is truly a unique M3 and the price reflects the low miles and immaculate condition. The mods are common, and can be purchased anywhere, but it's tough if not impossible to find an M3 with these miles and the condition it's in. While we need to have a standard to develop a price base, you need to keep in mind that KBB is not familiar with specialized highly desired models. For example, KBB doesn't know that 95 is OBD1. Also KBB doesn't even have a value for the Lightweight.
My asking price may seem high, but how many low miled immaculate condition E36 M3's are out there?

You may not get exactly your ask, but I bet you could get close in Roundel or maybe even Ebay. "Book" values are a decent guideline for commonly found cars, but when you get into rare cases, such as a very low mile 1995
M3, it's kind of a specialized car for a certain buyer, maybe a collecter.
If I had the funds to spend, Id probably consider $17K+ or so for that car, maybe more when you consider a well-worn 95 M3 with 100k will still go for $11k-$12k.

Having worked at numerous dealers, Kelly Blue Book is not the standard. It's just perceived that way by the general public. KBB does not factor in any market trends or competitor offers that always effect a cars value. NADA gives a much better idea of what a car is really worth. Also, Edmunds is normally more accurate when it comes to getting a True Market Value (TMV).
You just can't trust KBB, especially for older high demand cars. Try putting an 1990 E30 M3 in with around 100k on the odo. It comes back with a value around $7000 in excellent (showroom) condition. That car in reality would go for over 12-15k easily in showroom condition.
Also, I'm in the process of buying a very similar car, 95 M3 with 26k on the clock. It has a few more mods on it, $20,000. It has had some paint work done on the passenger side, but the body panels are still original.

I work for toyota in sales. It's funny the supra is worth more used than new. At a recent big toyota meeting they talked about bringin back the supra and the answer was only if we can sell it used straight out of the box.
As for book value on this car. He's asking too much even if it's extremely well kept. If it had under 10k miles on it you'd probably be in the right price range. With his miles probably high teens is more what it is worth.

hmm.....contemplating this.
$20k is a bit high, especially since it's a 95, has the old heater design, etc.....
but looks good.

Danimal.....If your Car is available Mid..December...I wwill take a hard look at buying it....Not the color I am looking for...but I definetly think your car is worth more than everyones talking about as long as you have documentation on everything...Your car is an enthusiasts car.....To warrant the price, it must come with all the documentation. If it does well then its worth every penny. Email the scoop at bgboykin@comcast.net. I have a sister in law with kids in vermont, so I might be able to convince my wife to go for a trip...Will not be until Mid Dececember.....So if thats to long please do not let me waste your time.....Your car is one of the cars I have been coveting ...But I still love Dakar Yellow.....So we will see...but I am definetly into the have documentation and history..car is worth more camp.

White wasn't my first choice, I was always a black car guy. When I saw the car, I quickly changed my mind. I have all the documentation. The car was purchased in South Hampton BMW and has been local since. All of the after market parts were purchased from Turner with the exception of the wheels. All of the suspension work was done at a local race shop, and I still have all the records. The exhaust/ecu/intake was done by myself. I'm in no real rush to sell the car, so I have to assume I'll have it in December. The car is garaged in a heated garage and I take it out ocassionaly to keep the fluids moving. Oh yeah, the car is in Long Island, NY. I just have it registered in VT.

i usually dont believe what kbb has to say with anything. sides, if the owner wants to charge that amount then let him do so. the reason why he is selling it at that price is because he thinks that it is really worth that much. i personally think that the price is reasonable but maybe lower it down a coupe of thousand dollars. i wouldnt trust ebay, the guys who buy cars on ebay are low ballers and used car salesman along with non-enthusiast's that rice out the automobile or get into a wreck with the car because they dont know the full potential behind it.

Danimal....Hopefully your car will last 25 more days......The more I think about it the more I like your car. Knowing that you have all the reciepts and have all the documentation is very attractive to me.

Nice car hope ya'll sell it.
my comparison to the supra was simply stating that older Ms experience a similar above NADA/KBB phenom. similar to the 2jz 6sp toyota.
bump for a sweet car.

Bump for it being only 24 days till I can make you an offer. Not like I am counting. Your car has everythign someone could want in a car.....I still have to sell myself on white....but I have had a white BMW before. Nothing like having a carbon black car (hard as hell to maintain) and then adding a white one....Hell at least the paint doesnt show as many imperfections.
