Do you know the guy at all? I called the post office in Keller, TX yesterday, and they have the envelope but have been unable to deliver it to him. This makes me think he's not in town, but from our conversations, he seems to be in town. Also, the other guy waiting for his rims, says Juan told him he'd be out of town for some period of time. I just don't understand what is going on, and can't get ahold of him. And obviously Zazen is in a bad situation since it has been roughly 4 weeks since he has paid.

Well, my situation has been temporarily settled. The post office in Keller, TX called me this morning, (I always put my phone number in the return address spot), and asked if I would like the envelope to be returned to sender since they have been trying to deliver to Juan for 4 days to no avail. My mother answered the phone, but she told them to go ahead and send it back. So the money order is on its way back to me. Juan also called me, before I had this information, and said he was trying to pick the money order up, so he is in town, which is good news for Zazen.

Juan, the above is why the envelope wasn't there this afternoon when you went to pick it up. If you are going to be in town for awhile, and can start a PayPal account, which I highly recommend if you are going to be doing a lot of transactions, then possibly we can try again this Monday.

Hello everyone,

I kept quiet on this thread, as I was hoping this wasn't happening to me too, but it apparently is.

Juan posted a set of contour wheels here. I agreed to buy them, and sent him the money 2nd day mail to make sure he got it quickly. THAT WAS 2 MONTHS AGO AND I STILL DON"T HAVE THE WHEELS!

Every week Juan has an excuse:

Out of town
paypal didn't work
busy during the week, have to wait for weekend
buying a house, too busy
working out of state, too busy
working late, too busy
Fedex won't come to my house
can't get the wheels to UPS
etc.

He also takes days to respond to email, and never answers the phone. Right now, he claims he works in the desert, and there is no Internet connection. But he stays in a hotel that has a connection, but somehow doesn't use it to communicate.

I mean, I work 15 hours day too, and yet I have never managed to delay shipping anything. At this point, I think Juan is a thief and a liar. No one should have to wait 2 months for delivery of some wheels.

At this point, if there is anyone who lives near him and can get a check, I would appreciate it. He lives in Keller, and I live in Virginia, it's not next door.

After reading through the thread, I think he doesn't really have anything, he just gathers a bunch of money from people.

And, as I said to him in an email, I think I will have to call the police at this time, I don't really have much other choice.

I have contacted the local police in Keller, and they are sending over an officer to see if the home address is even real.

He claims he's coming to "talk with the police" to "straighten things up", except I don't see how he can do that without sending our money.

So, as I noted in the other thread, after talking with the detective, he advised me to take it to a local court to me here in Virginia, so that I don't have to incur the cost of travel. Juan will have to come here to deal with it in court.

I'm contacting a lawyer today to see how to proceed, what charges to press, etc. I'm not bothering to wait until Saturday, since he could resolve it today if he wanted to. I mean, I can be anywhere in the country, and wire transfer money, we've all seen the commercials for Western Union. He could write a check, he could get cash from the local ATM and send me a money order, he could send me the wheels (if they even exist), he could borrow off of a credit card and send the cash, he could use paypal....I could go on and on. I travel a lot also, and I never ever have a problem getting money to send for anything. I can even go online to my bank and have them mail the check for me for 50 cents. I can't believe he "can't", I believe he won't or he has spent the money on something else (like his new house).

Anyway, I'll keep everyone updated also. I'm sure he is just a con artist at this point, especially after hearing from others that he "sold" the same wheels to.

What he said to me was "Didn't mail check it was my wife's fault." This matches the email, but doesn't match what he has stated on the board.

Separately, I don't really understand about "getting all the documents". What documents? My cashed check showing that he has it, or a fake document to show he sent me something? Just nonsense.

And to the gentleman who said it right before, it still doesn't make it cool that he sold the same set of wheels to several different people, and didn't pay up until we started to make noise, and that I had to call the police for some action to occur (which, at this point, is still unproven, as I still have received no check). And, I suspect no one else has either. Even if by some miracle he sends a check, he's not someone I would suggest dealing with in the future.

Looks like Juan has decided to clear up the issue with me. He called and left me a message with a tracking #, which I have verified. At this point, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt that it's not a scam, and that it's a real check coming to me that won't bounce. So, I called the detective in Keller and asked that he drop it. If for some reason this is a bogus check, I will be taking him to court here in Virginia anyway. But, I really want to think he has come to his senses.

Once it has cleared my bank, I will be posting here to state that Juan has made good on returning the money. I'm not here to just show the negative, I want people to see the whole story.

If there is anyone else who does not receive from him, I can email you privately the detective I spoke with, and some of the information I have that you might find of use that I got when I went to the courthouse.

Although I didn't get the wheels, I feel that at least this brings some closure.

file claim in small claims court, i believe it must be in the correct "district" or "precint" but I'm not sure. check the internet just to be sure. keep calling the cops and hopefully they'll respond.
