Sadly, I think it is about time for me to sell my 1995 318is. This is my first car, and I've done the best I could with the funds I've had to take care of her. I need your help in pricing the car for sale, so I can buy a 1979 320i (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=403628).

Year: 1995
Model: 318is
Color: Boston Green Metalic
Mileage: 173,000+ (I bought it at 127,800 miles in July 2001)
Tranny: Auto

Pros:
Runs like a champ, changed oil every 3,500-5,000 miles since owned, all records from my ownership, sport shocks/springs, Ground Control RSMs, Euro clear lenses. Also has a Kenwood MP3/CD receiver that is 3 years old, but the faceplate no longer lights up. Stock radio would be included.

Cons:
Headliner coming down all over the place and is pinned in place by thumbtacks, paint is simply okay - some scratches and what looks like soap or acid rain staining on the hood, a few minor dents, rock chips on front of hood, interior door panels are seperating (common problem due to cheap recycled materials being used; the rear ones have completely come off but I do have them), and one wheel is bent causing a vibration and needs to be replaced.

KBB for my area at 'fair' is around $3,600. I figure the mods are about $750-1,000. The headliner could be fixed for as little as $500, or so I'd heard. Door panels could be reaffixed. Minor dents could be pulled, and a good wet sanding would make her shine nicely. The wheel could be replaced for $150-200 depending on what the new ownerwanted to do.

What should my starting price be? I was thinking somewhere around $4,500-5,000 to give room for negotiation.

Thoughts? And much thanks, in advance.

Headliner can be done for $100 if you shop around $200 at most body shops.

And to be perfectly honest I wouldn't pay over 4 grand for the car. I am a bit on the cheap side though

yeah a headliner should not cost that much to fix, you would be better off doing that before you sell it. and fixing the door panels also
