Hey guys, did anyone who participated in the Xenon Depot Group purchase receive their kit yet? Its almost two weeks now and nothing still. Steve (owner) mentioned that my kit was delayed due to customs ? Anyways, I would like to know how the install went. Was the install straight forward? Any tips/tricks? Any "low beam failure" warning? I'm doing a euro ellips with hid install as soon as I get my kit.
Thanks

This kit is similar to the SPP kit, install will be straightforward (easy) and clean.
Low beam failure can occur on E36 cars though.

It took a week to get the H1 6000k kit in my hands. I installed my ellipsoids with the standard H1 bulbs and used them for a few days before I dropped in the HID kit. WOW!
However I get the lowbeam failure light ALL the time so now I have to ghetto rig the wires to bypass the sensor.
Very Straight forward install.

Hey guys, DHL just delivered the XD Hid kit 10 minutes ago! Its too bad I have to wait about a week to install them because I'm going on vacation next week!!! The kit looks impressive, made with high quality material. It came with Philips ballast but I'm not sure about the bulbs (they're suppose to be Philips according to the box). Theres no marking on the bulbs so I'm hoping that its a Philips kit!!!
MMaigret is going to help me with the install. I'll post pics whenever everything is hooked up! By the way, what else do I need other than electrical tape, upgraded fuses and double sided tape?
Thanks

here are some pictures of the product installed. Lights are ZKW. H1 6000k kit is from xenon depot.
If I can only rid of that "lowbeam failure" light now!

PS Now that you have HIDs could you ever go back to regular Halogen?

Contact Steve at info@xenondepot.com to get some group buy pricing. Regular price is $599 however we paid $550 through a group buy.
Just mention that you just heard about this through bimmerforums.

are the kits from xenon depot from mtc-lighthing?

NO
from what I know, Unless I am mistaken, MTC lighting makes the kits for HIDs 4 less.
XenonDepot does not use MTC lighting however they also use Philips components.

please excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between the xenon technologies and xenon depot kit. I know both of them are offered in 6000K kits with Philips bulbs and ballasts. Is one better than the other? Thanks.

From what I've read on these forums, they both appear to be very reputable companies. I personally have the XenonDepot kit however I have also heard postivie feedback on the Xenon Technologies kit.
I dealt with Steve at XenonDepot (info@xenondepot.com) when I purchased the kit. If you are interested, I am pretty sure he could provide you with group buy pricing. Just contact him.

Mmaigre installed ( I assisted) the XenonDepot 5000K HID's and ZKW's ellipsoids. Install time was about 5 hrs (being steady and careful). We ran into 2 problems:
1) The H1 bulbs did not fit the ZKW's. We had to sand down the metal fittings within the ZKW ellipsoids.
2) We also ran into the "low beam failure" warning.
Mmaigret fixed the Low Beam Failure by doing the: XENON FIX BY RICH 328
http://www.geocities.com/acetone11/Pages/xenons.htm
All is well now. The warning is gone! The HID's projected a white- bluish light. The ZKW's projection is awesome, much better than the standard e36 M3 headlights. They also look very aggressive with the horizontal lines and projectors! I have the lights projected kinda high, but the HIDs barely have any glare so its not blinding the oncoming traffic. I ran into a couple of parked cops last night (waiting for speeders in the neighborhood) and they were not bothered with my lights whatsoever ( and no high beam flash yet from other drivers). I'm still "breaking in the HID's" and they're suppose to get a little brighter according to Steve from Xenon Depot.com
I'll do a comparison between my 5000K kit and Mmaigret's 6000K Ultinons soon!
