View Full Version : Oh sure, I order...and RECALL announced
Hope the bugs are out of the MCS before I get one... my dealership will be 100+ miles away. This was the ONLY negative in getting one...

Oh come on. There are a few more negatives than that. Just get in it and imagine trying to vacuum and clean the interior. :)

MCS = ??? :dunno
What's the recall for?

MCS = MINI Cooper S
The recall was for some transmission thing only on the manuals... apparently it can get stuck in a gear or something like that... not too much of a safety hazard but a nuisance nonetheless. I think the dealers just install a clip to fix it...

Chris,
Her car won't be affected as it's for the 5 spd Coopers. More specifically VIN TC30066 - TC34812. Part of the linkage uses a magnet that is supposed to break away so you don't blow your tranny. However, under less than ideal conditions, the link pops off. The fix is a $.50 clip.
