I went to BMW/Mini the other day to arrange for a test drive of a Cooper S. When I got there, I found that 15 of the 16 cars were sold and only a Cooper (non S) remained on the lot and from what I was told that car was currently in negotiations.

Sales guy said I would have to come back another time since all the cars are sold. I was like gheez... the entire inventory is sold out for the Mini. The sales guy said he wished people would come and get their cars cause they have no where to park them and a new shipment would be coming shortly.

People need to go get their cars!

Sounds fishy about the people "not coming to get their cars". That just doesn't add up.

The same thing is going on at Princeton BMW/MINI in NJ... When I went to check them out they said that all the cars on the lot were accounted for except for one CVT. They probably had a dozen cars or more on the lot there and the guy claimed that they were "all accounted for" but I'd seen them on the lot for weeks... don't know how its looking around there now though.

I wonder if they aren't letting them sit there to gather interest? If it were my car, I would be there to pick it up in a heartbeat.
