Well I just placed my order for my '06 British racing green Cooper S yesterday and its expected to arrive first week of Nov. Needless to say I can't wait! My first question for everyone here is: has anyone installed the Ipod wiring themselves, i'm not talking about the "Aux. Input" wiring but the wiring harness that lets your ipod run off of the car's batt. I talked to my mini dealer and he told me that the dealership does it and it takes them 2 hours and they'll charge ~$200. If anyone has a how-to write up or any info it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and i look forward to meeting up with you guys at some meets.

it's not too difficult to do. the Ipod adapter plugs into a port on the backside of the head unit. you're then susposed to run the wire to the glovebox. but if you do this on your own you'd be able to place it in any location close to the area. I think the glovebox is the best area for it. I'll look for the write up for the install...but i'm not sure where to find it at the moment.

THIS LINK (http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/showpost.php?p=253888&postcount=1) covers the installation of the ICE/Link adapter which, I understand, will give you a pretty good idea for what is needed.

Many of us have removed the driver's side knee bolster in favor of the European Parcel Shelf. The shelf provides more interior storage above the driver's knees and is a perfect place to keep your iPod handy, but out of sight (unless you have a convertible). The EPS can be bought for about $80 (Classic Auto Campus) and installed by the owner in about 15 minutes.

However, if you have a convertible, the locking glove box is the best bet.

thanks for the help! Koopah, do you have a picture of what the EPS looks like installed? What websites does everyone recommend for parts, forums, etc.? i've already signed up for mini2.com and NAM but was wondering if there were any others.
