The long, long version:
After doing some thinking, my wife and I have decided to move further east and look at buying a house. As such, I'm going to sell my M3 and downsize. I am the second owner of the car, and both myself and the previous owner treated this car as though it were our baby. When I bought it, I had to promise the previous owner's wife that I'd take good care of his 3rd child. :)
First off, the car is in pristine condition. It has been garaged every night since being purchased. It has only seen rain two times. A true garage queen. In fact, it still retains its original new car smell--how's that for good condition? Needless to say, we are non-smokers as well.
For those that aren't familiar with steel gray, it's no longer offered as a primary M3 color. It's darker than both titanium silver and silver gray, and many regard it as the best "silver/dark silver" M3 color for the E46 chassis.
The car has 4600 miles on it. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to really drive it much, and as you can tell, the previous owner didn't as well. I did, however, make sure to drive it at least a couple of times a week to keep everything working well. It's had all of its required services up to this point (including rod-bearing recall and SMG software updates). I have all of the paperwork for everything it's ever had. I personally broke the car in again after its rod-bearing work, and I made sure to follow the directions perfectly to ensure that there are no long-term problems with the engine. The car still has its overall warranty until December of this year, and it also has its 6 year/100,000 mile warranty covering everything lubricated by engine oil.
The car has never been raced or burned out. I hate to say that I've never really pushed the car very hard, and since there has been a notion that I may sell, I've decided to keep taking it easy. Even the cosmoline that is coated over portions of the engine/undercarriage is still there, which is an indication that the car hasn't been overworked enough to burn it all off.
As far as options go, it has SMG (with park distance control), premium package, harmon kardon sound, and xenons. It also has 18" stock wheels. The interior leather is in great condition. The car has the oval rearview mirror that was highly sought after a while back, as BMW changed to the more clunky one with BMW assist integrated. The premium package includes the nappa leather, power front seats with 3 memory options, and moonroof.
There has been only one "modification" from stock--if you can call it that. I've replaced the OEM amber front reflectors with steel gray colored ones to match the rest of the bumper. In my opinion, this is a necessary modification for any M3, but I still have the original amber reflectors if you'd like to replace them. The rest of the car is totally unmodded in any way.
My wife stumbled upon this car as a fluke, and, to be quite honest, I'm not sure you can find another M3 with this few miles and in this type of condition. There are showroom M3s that I've seen that are in worse condition. I've treated this car as a baby since day one (as did the previous owner), so you're sure to get exactly what you want. Being that it has so few miles and is in great condition, I'm going to ask $40,500 for it.
I will post a few pictures below, but I have around 40 pictures of it total to demonstrate (as much as a picture can) the pristine nature of this M3. Please don't hesitate to PM or email me (email may be seen faster) at csmoak@gmail.com with any picture requests and I will be happy to provide them. I can also provide them in whatever resolution you'd like up to 1600x1200 (~5.5MB each).
I'll be offering it to the forum members for a few days before I look to post it on the major car-selling sites. I'd prefer to sell this car to a true enthusiast that will keep this car in the same general condition as its previous owners have.
Please feel free to contact me via PM or at csmoak@gmail.com with any questions.
EDIT: Let me know if these pics don't show up, and I'll find some other place to host them.
Thanks!
