**WTB: seat recline gear box**

my little plastic gear broke in my power seat recline gearbox. I'm looking for the entire gearbox or just the GREEN or PINK gears or both.

seriously....do a search. I had this problem too, BMW only sells the seat frame, which the gear box attaches directly to, for $300 if you have sport seats.

Junkyard will be your best bet.

Actually, a company on the west coast used to machined the plastic piece out of brass, but they stopped. do a search, there many threads dealing with this.

LOL. I just replaced that identical gear tonight. I got a brass replacement from Sports Car Recycling in Pheonix.

Can that box be found on a 4 door seat or just a 2 door? If you can find it on a 4 door then I have 2 I will sell you.

How hard is the install?
If you have set of star/torx nutdriver bits it's pretty easy. I'd recommend buying the brass gear as a replacement over buying an already used plastic gear, just my opinion though.

X2 Sounds more logical to just upgrade instead of having to deal with this issue later on.
