Hi,

I have a tape adapter for my ipod, it works on my 528 series model with NO problems however when I try to use it on my 540i i get a tape error message? Any solutions to this issue???

When I insert the cassette, the tape deck reads it and tries to play but it doesnt play it displays a tape error message, cant the deck be damaged???

Well... stick a regular tape into the 540 player and find out. :D

Get one of those Wireless-transmitters or whatever you wanna call it (available at most stores). It plugs into your iPod, and wirielessly transmits to your headunit -- you just need to tune into 1 of the 3 frequencies it works on.

it's great but it all depends where you live. if you live in an area with lots of radio station like NYC (where i am), you do get *some* (very minimium) interfearance. i have mine hot wired to the car and is located in the trunk right next to the FM antenna so i get virtually none.
the only problem with my setup is i need a better MP3 player then the window media that comes on ipaq's. i had one but i forgot what it was called.

FM madulators sucks imo! Sound quality is very poor!, just purchase one and returned it

which one did you get?

BTW: you are sure the tape player is in the right direction for the tape modulator?
