Ever run 87 octane gas in your 540?

I've got a '00 540 with the Dinan software and was told that I should only put 93 octane gas in it. Unfortunately just about every gas station is out of gas and i can only find a few with 87. Should I put the 87 in it or just not drive? (It's still under warranty and I don't want to void my CPO by putting in gas that they told me shouldn't be in it.)

Knock sensors should save you... but to be honest, I wouldn't even drive it. Detonation can get very very very expensive very quickly.
