Well Ive searched under N20, Nitrous, Spray.... but I never see a definitive answer about who knows what.
Basically I have an old NOS wet kit from my honda, and its just sitting in my closet. But I think its time to come out. Hrm that didnt sound right.
Anyway, I have some questions about fuel pressure and what kind of shots the 540 likes.
Thanks in advance,
Donald :alright

Its a V8, so you should be able to go with a 100-150 shot without being to scared.
I would be more worried about overspraying, with the kits out now that are automatically controlled, that would be the way to go.
You might want to give some specs on your engine(age, problems in past etc) so the techies can tell you if you it is worth it to put on your engine or not.
Personally, I wouldn't do it.

This sounds like a scary proposition. I'd steer clear of this stuff on a 4.4, or any other late model BMW motor, but that is just me. If you grenade the motor, you will be looking at a bill to replace probably equal to the cost of a Honda.
Good Luck,
Greg

Don't be scared to use NOS, most people don't have an understanding of it, therefore they would never consider it. There are poeple who are more willing to throw 7-8 lbs of boost on a stock motor then 100-150 shot of NOS. S/C adds about 200hp while the NOS will add like 75-100hp...which do you think is harder on the motor?! :redspot

So this is a dry setup, and not direct port into intake manifold runners?

correct. Iwas looking into the direct port style with the ports on the bottom of the intake hidden under the intake. But the gains wouldn't be any better, and the cost was alot higher.

Im thinking about NOS on my 535..it would be fun and cheap . My plans to go turbo are kind of shaky depending on the rising gas prices. Yeah I know turbos dont affect your mileage but it just doestn work out that way. a 1000 dollar nitrous kit would be an easy way to go

Just a thought on nitrous going along with what Greg said. Nitrous is safe, but........
Nitrous creates an instant and brutal explosion of low end torque, whereas the majority of forced induction with centrifugla or turbos builds a logarithmic increase to the power curve ove r aperiod of time, which causes less shock on the system (crank twisting, etc)
Dont foget as RPMS increase VE decreases over peak and the turbo making bosst at 5 grand isnt the same as the same % of power increase on the low end
Am I making sense?
