I have a 97 M3 w/18in rims by 8in wide. stock suspension. tires in front 225/35/18, rear,245/35/18. The rear is almost about to rub now, but the allingment is off.. I want to lower the car w/ springs but dont know how low can i go.. I might order a 225/35/18 tire for the back and drop it1.6 front and 1.4 back. Is this ok ? do i need 225 in rear or will the 245 work? Please let me know... I will be very, very grateful. There must be many out there who knows....

I have 18x8.5 all around on my E36 M3. I run 225/35s all around and have no rubbing, but I am on stock suspension. You may be ok with 225s and lowered, but any wider and you may have to roll your fenders.

I have 18x8.5 and Im running 225/40-18 all around with a drop similar to the one you want (bilstein/eibach). Im swapping the fronts out to 235/40-18 and Im gonna try to fit 255/35-18 in the rear. It also depends on the offset of the wheels. My offset is 35ET so I may have to make do with 235/40 or 245/40 in the rear. You can also try setting the camber for the rear tire so you have a little more room...

roll those fenders (its gonna be necessary, even with 225's sometimes, depending on what tires you're using). Not only will it be a certain remedy as opposed to guessing with tire sizes, but its a heck of a lot cheaper than ~~$400 for 2 tires

I just put 255/35-18 Toyo T1S on the rear of my lowered E36 m3 with 18x8.5" ET35 ADR Msports and I had to roll the fenders a little. When I hit a big bump it rubs though, I think if your offset is higher than 35 you shouldnt have any problems.
