Want to update the look of my car and can't decide between the two options. What do most of you think about the LED tails vs. the Euro look?? Also what do you think of this deal?? Not sure if the Alteeza name is bad or the look that is generally associacted with the name? These look like they are euro style which I am leaning towards vs. the led style

Everybody on here will tell you to go with OEM clears. Aftermarket lights could lead to wiring problems so save yourself the trouble and pick up some OEM tails at www.pacificbmw.com. I got mine for 220 for the pair.

I still have to see some LED tails for the E36s that look good.

If I ever find some really cheap clear tails, I plan on making a LED taillight prototype that looks like the originals but with LEDs instead of bulbs...none of this altezza-looking showy stuff. I think the LEDs are cool because a) they light up instantly and b) are more noticible to the person behind you, which cuts down on reaction time...

I guess you should use some crystal cut tails instead of regular clears... The LED's light will stand out more.

That's not what I want. I'm not all about that ricey look...I just want the added brightness and response time of leds. They will work fine behind a set of OEM clears- but the little "dots" that are the lights may not be as defined...

i bought some tails from ebay for around 80 bucks w/shipping included in that price. Should come in a few days, if they work fine with no OBC problems i'll send you the link.

Hey, I would also love to see pics of the LED lights in an E36 cause I just bought one and the stock lights need to go!

I bought a pair of LED tails and am very happy with the results. The LED are much brighter, and look Ok. In New Orleans we have some very wet weather, and lots of rain. These lights cut the heavy rain, and are very visable. I don't want any rear ends, since 70% of the drivers in this city don't have any insurance, and drive junkers.

The LED lights I bought have small transformers attached. That is because LED use much less current, and voltage and it must be stepped down. The problem is finding space for the transformers in the bay for the tail lights. I also have not see the "Brake Light" notice yet, and it has been 6 months since I installed the lights. The lights were also a direct fit, and installed in less than a 1/2 hour.

Sweet, thanks. Just picked up my baby from the dealer tonight and want to get some respectible lighting. The LED's SEEM cool, but I want to see what they look like insitu before I decide between those and the euro's. As a side note, just switched to the 325is from a 3000gt VR 4. Not as fast (yet), but dare I say more fun to drive?

Do not buy from K2 Motor. I did and have heard form others that did and you will not receive those lights. The picture shows them with no orange and look nice what I actually got had an orange circle in the "white" turn signal spots. There are companies out there that sell the ones just like what you are looking(no orange at all) for cheaper than "OEM", but you will most likely get OBC problems I do and I choose to live with it.(When I turn on my tail lights it says "tail light failure", but they are working perfectly). I would look into the leds though. I think they look good but have never seen them on a E36. Again do not buy from K2 Motor.

Anyone know where to find installed pics of the LED taillights?
