Hi, iam new to this forum and BMWs, i will be purchasing ae36 of some type and i would like to know what is the difference between the 325i 325is besides being a 2 and 4 door, and also can you put the same performance stuff on the 328i as you can on the 325i can you put the same stuff on both, is there a real big performance difference between the models in accel and corning? thanks

theres no other difference between i and is
u cant always use the same stuff for both cars
u can get more hp from a 328
stock the 328 has more torque, painted bumeprs w/ lux skirts
but the 325 weighs slightly less

325's are cheaper to buy and insure. They are obd 1 which is a lot less of a headache and easier to work with all around. On e30's the is came with an lsd, not sure if thats true on the 36's

It's not true. I believe to have an LSD stock it has to be a 325 with the cold weather package, and I've seen an LSD from a 95 318 that had it as a rare option.

What is considered a high miledge e36, how long does the 325i engine last usualy or when does stuff start to fail?
