i think it is the undercoating coming through on both side of the car. it's the black panel at the bottom of the body on each side of the car. there are patches of white on these panels. how do i touch this up. what paint do i use?

Yeah, Napa is an auto parts chain like Pep Boys.

That guy never tells you everything. What a prick!

WOW, the one and only, I've only "seen" your posts but never actually was involved with them. This is a great day my friend.

by the way, where did you get your armrest for the 325i?

Glad to help. After washing the car, the whole rest of the procedure will take less than an hour. Half that if you don't try and make a teenager do the masking :)

The armrests are actually BMW P/N's. You can get them from any BMW dealer. I think they are about $119 but I really can't remember.

ok thanks. i've seen an armrest in bav autosport but i forget how much it was and it only had 1 cup holder. enough of armrest talk.
mr. powell, if you would indulge me for just a moment please. i just baught my 325i 1 week ago. i've already changed the timing belt, tensioner, dist. cap, rotor, air filter, plugs, hoses and water pump. the car seems to "chug" a little bit in second gear. could this be a valve timing issue? also, my shift lever is (for lack of a better word) worn. it's a freakin slush box for pete's sake. instead of gettin in there and changing the bushings and linkages and what not, i was thinking of just installing a short shifter. i see you have a uuc. was this a real pain in the neck?
last question, i need brake pads, just go stock or ebc greenstuff or somehting else?

Chugging in second gear could be quite a few things. I'd suggest getting a compression check and having someone analyze the spark plugs after they have about 500 miles on them to see how they are coloring up.

The UUC shifter is pretty easy to put in other than getting the cup out which can be a stinker. Just give yourself an afternoon to do it. It will seem notchy but it loosens up over time. Sometimes changing the tranny fluid to ATF will help make it smoother.

For pads I like stock if you don't care about the terrible dust. If you don't track the car, Axxis Deluxe are good dustless pads.

great, thanks for the info mr. powell. it has been not only a pleasure but a true honor.

i'm outta here. work day is over. i hope you check back on the e30 forum often because i will most likely be asking a lot of questions.
