WTB: E30 325is

Looking to buy a E30 325is or 91' 318is. Needs to be in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. 5 speed. Low miles. Im in the Washington state/Seattle area, but out of state isnt totally out of the question. Thanks.

Low miles.Sorry to burst your bubble but finding one in the stated condition will be a challenge nonetheless. The more conditions you set, the harder your find will be. Remember, these are 14+ year old cars and ones that have been meticulously cared for (very few) go for an arm and a leg - just some food for thought.

A couple months ago I was in your same position. In fact I set the same conditions you've listed at the beginning of my quest but I slowly came to the realization that it would be nearly impossible and out of my budget. It was only after a lenghty 3-4 months of intense searching that I found my '91 318is with relatively high miles - 157k, but in excellent condition.

If you are in no rush and willing to be patient then something is bound to pop up. Roadfly.org and craigslist.org are both great places to search. I found my car locally on craigs. Best of luck!

Well, 1st, i am patient, ive been looking for a couple months, and I find one every once and a while but it gets snatched up real quick. Also by low miles, I mean reletively. I know these are old cars. Im just looking for one like 150k ish, not one with 250. Thanks.

I don't know about that, your gunna be hard pressed to find another E30 that can compare to the condition and mileage of this one. I think hes on E30tech, not sure. Its got a few quirks if im not mistaken, but im sure you can talk him down in price. I'll post back with the problems in a bit. Nothing to major i remember. I would be on this if i was actually like, in NC, lol.

I definatly know I wouldnt find another of this quality and with this mileage.. which is why im so amazed. Youve got a couple hundred thousand miles on me too..haha, im in WA. *ghasp*

Id love to hear more about it.. I highly doubt id be buying it, so I wouldnt wanna bother the guy.. But whatever you know would be great.

Im off to look at an 89' 325i conv. tonight in "immaculate" condition with 119k for 3500. If there arent any problems with it, itd be a steal.

But lemme know about that 318..Thanks!

Well this is what the owner wrote on E30tech.

1. the passenger side window switch has a short, it goes up fine, but the button sticks on the down sometimes. have to fiddle with it.

2. the sunroof track...I dont know what the deal is. i just stopped sliding back. it will pop up, but not go back.

3. the rubber grommet that goes around the antenna crumbled off one day while i was washing it. i have a replacement (uninstalled)

4. the hood latch cable is stretched a bit. still operable no problem. I have an oem replacement for that, as well. (uninstalled)


that is IT. other than those things, this thing is in fine mechanical and all around condition!


The profile gasket was replaced at 75k miles by Carr Industries in Greensboro, NC. all work carries a 12 month, 12k mile warranty. I have the paperwork for that.
