While I was searching for part numbers to replace the rear shock mounts on my e36 with e46 RSM and gaskets, etc; I came across a link that had the part numbers. Well BMW has updated those (PacificBMW told me) so I just wanted to let you all know for the next time you call them in:
(The prices are from Pacific BMW)
E46 Rear Shock Mounts- 33-50-4-035-931: $15.43
Self-Locking Collar Nut - 31-33-1-092-887 (no # change here): $0.50
Washer Gasket- 33-52-6-772-864: $0.45
Z3 Reinforcement Plates- 51-71-8-413-359 (no # change here): $10.90
Self-Locking Hex Nut- 33-52-1-137-360 (no # change here): $0.50

Did they also tell you that all the E36 and E46 RSMs are the same now?
Well, "now" is actually more than half year ago... at least for the euro market.

I knew that because of reading posts on this forum, but they didn't tell me that. The only other thing they mentioned was that I shouldn't cross parts like putting the Z3 reinforcement plates on my e36.

Can you expand that? How many of each part do we want? Did you order the actual GASKET too (the one that goes under the mount)?

Here's the post again with the updated quantities you would need. As for why the guy said not to use Z3 reinforcement plates. His only reason was that its better to keep your car stock and not mix and match parts with other models. He was probably just covering himself in case I installed the reinforcement plates and somehow my car got messed up.
E46 Rear Shock Mounts- 33-50-4-035-931: $15.43 (quantity = 2)
Self-Locking Collar Nut - 31-33-1-092-887 (no # change here): $0.50 (quantity = 4)
Washer Gasket- 33-52-6-772-864: $0.45 (quantity = 2)
Z3 Reinforcement Plates- 51-71-8-413-359 (no # change here): $10.90 (quantity = 2) (optional)
Self-Locking Hex Nut- 33-52-1-137-360 (no # change here): $0.50 (quantity = 2)
I ended up not buyign the reinforcement plates, largely because I don't drive my car hard (and its an automatic, so I can't really do much). With $15 shipping from Cali to Alabama it cost me a total $48.76
And yes, the gasket shown above is the actual gasket that goes below the mount. And once again, I'm sure that most of you already know what you need and how much of it, but I'm a newbie and I know this will help out any newbies doing a search in the future.

Huh... the name "washer gasket" threw me off since it's paper or whatever, that sounds like a crush washer or something.
So the Hex Nuts are the ones that go on the top of the shock, and the collar nuts bolt down the RSM itself (either side of the shock).

Yes Sir, they have different names which kind of confused me too. The washer gasket is more so the gasket than a washer. I don't know why they called it that. If you say gasket, they'll know what you are talking about. They also called it a "seal" lol.
And yeah, the Hex nuts are the bolts that go on the top of the shock (I always considered it the bottom, since its by the wheel).
And the collar nuts secure the RSM to your car.

You are better off spending more and getting JTD or GC RSM.
