What is this stuff leaking out here. what does it do. whats this hose for?

I think it's the oil feed line for VANOS?

Mine was also slightly damp there and I wiped it off. Hasn't come back. I think it's dirt mixed with moisture and a bit of oil. Notice it is only on the front of the line (where water would come from)

Crankcase ventilation hose. Vapors from engine are routed to a seperator, oil drains back through dipstick tube, vapors are burned. Check if the plastic clamp is in the correct spot & tight. The oil stain is not a big deal, just unsightly.
