That is going to be REALLY expensive. REALLY expensive. The tail trim piece and the quarter panel are welded in. It is a huge job to replace those and when they are replaced a huge portion of the car is going to have to be repainted. Sorry to give you bad news. I hope you got a police report and pictures from the scene. If not, you're going to be paying thousands out of your own pocket.

100% covered I found at tonight by Geico...

other driver completely at fault so it's on his insurance.

I am just hoping they don't total the car for it.

A local bfc member came and cut out that entire fender from my donor car due to the exact same damaged caused by a hit and run. He is having someone weld it into his car.

Good luck with your car...

That could be very expensive. It really depends how the frame took it. The bulge by the wheel says bad news though. Sounds like you're ok and that's what matters.

When my 318 got rearended I got a 325...

This is not big deal at all none of those parts don’t need to be removed, accept getting new tail light. Good body shop should have stud welder (http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=1609&itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&keyword=stud+welder) they weld studs into damaged area and then pull metal back. Some body shops like to drill holes and than pull back the metal but this would not be my personal preference. But most likely and since this is insurance job, shop doing the work will go for entire quarter panel replacement. It is more work for them and obviously more money they can take from insurance.
