205/40/17 Tires for front and rear with chrome rims, but mostly i would like to know if those tires are good for bmw 528s year 1999. I got some bullcrap stock rims with some crappy tires, which looks like a pizza pie with huge crusts because the rim is so small compare to the tire :P.

They're too narrow! Hell the Mazda 3's come with that size tire. Can't remember off the top of my head proper tire sizes for that vehicle. But to start off, I think it's about 225. Being it's a 5er, the car can easily take tires much wider. There's a ton of us 3ers running 245's and 255's in the back alone.

If I remember correctly, 235/45/17's were a common size. What size rim are you putting the tires on?

Mazda 3's don't come in that size. That width though - 205.

Put suitable shoes on that 5er. It'll thank you for it.

Good luck. Let us know what you decide. Pics too!

Your stock '99 528i comes with 225/60 R16 wheels and tires as OE. Why in the world would you take a narrow tire and put on a heavy machine like that?

If you are looking to go on 17" shoes, the sport package 5'er uses 235/45 R17 wheels and tires. That should be your first choice option. On the other hand, I would recommend you move up to 18" shoes on a 5ive banger. They look perfect on it. If I were you, this would be my setup (staggered of course):

Front - 18 x 8: 235/45 R18
Rear - 18 x 9: 255/40 R18

Talk to our friendly guys at The Tire Rack and they will give you the hook up.

That's going to be too tall. A better 18" fitment would be

245/40-18 all around

or, if you want to stagger,

245/40-18 front and 275/35-18 rear
