So 2 days ago my dad took my car out, while he was out he decided to put 3/4 of a tank of gas in my car however it was 89octane with a 10% ethonal blend in it. I have a TMS chip that is supposed to use a minumim of 91 octane rating. Well I drive the car around for the day and everything is fine. However i go to start to car today and nothing happens. All the lights come on and my radio works but my car wont even turn over. When i turn the key to start their is nothing happening with the engine and it makes no noises at all. Does anyone know what this could be, and if it could be a result of using that gasoline? :help

I doubt it has anything to do with the lower octane gas cuz I've done that before with my chipped engine.

I'd start diagnosing the problem. Got a Bentley Manual?

Does the starter engage and turn over the engine?

Check that the battery is holding a good enough charge first. Then diagnose any other problems after that.

If the battery checks out, I would check the start most definitly. My friends 2000 denali last week had the same problem.. full power to all accessories/lights, everything, but the starter would not turn. He ended up calling his friend who is a mechanic, he suggested to hit the starter with a hammer lightly, and we did that for a couple minutes.. He said have somebody try to start the engine while somebody underneat the car taps the starter a couple times.. That didnt work after about 10 minutes of constnalty hitting the starter with the hammer, we went down to the shop, had them replace the starter and it was good to go. Had we known this, we woulda replaced the starter ourselves, I actually told him to replace it but we didnt wanna fart around as we had to go to work that day and needed the vehicle for transporation.
