It's really stiff and takes a lot of effort to move the tensioner. But it should move if you loosened the tensioner bolt. I did mine in realitively cool weather, with a friend and worked up a good sweat, so be prepared to be drenched when you're done.

thanks thanks thanks. i got it all figured out. haha i didnt even need to loosen the bold on the pulley. what you do is get to the bolt directly under that and tighten it. the bolt its self will not tighten any further but that will compress the little shock on the tensioner and will pull the tension pulley down allowing you to slip the belt over it. time for someone to add that to the one on the diy page. that would have saved me so much sweat.
drenched when im done?? i started to sweat when i opened the garage.

damn it!!! came across another problem. now its the tensioner for the big belt. when i tighten the bolt down it pinches the belt. i doubt it is supposed to do that. part of the belt tucks under the lip of the "washer". but it picnches where the belt leaves the tensioner onto the next pulley. help help help help im going nutts in this garage

it turns out that the belt wasnt resting on the pulley when it was getting pinched by the fastner. it was the bearing itself. the pulley must have broke apart on the free way which caused the belts to come off the rails. i had no idea what the tensioner pulley was supposed to look like so i was stumped. till i showed the parts guy and he kept asking where the pulley was and i told its right here handing him the big silver bearing hahaha. boy did i feel dumb. welps a new pulley at the stealer in my area is 70 bucks so i guess its 4-50 in your area?? my dealers are kool like that :nono
