I will be auctioning my baby on eBay within a month or so because I am getting tired of having to keep a car in tip-top, pristine condition. However, first I need to find a daily driver (WTB 91 E30).

It is fairly stock except for Dinan CAI, perf. software, lightweight flywheel, Racing Dynamics front strut brace, X-brace & perf. clutch. Also, I do not race nor have I ever track'd it.

The car really is in perfect shape. I have had three or four inspections in the past few months (free from BMWCCA club members) and have fixed all known issues. Only think I know is wrong is it has a slight rough idle for about a minute after start (which was somewhat fixed after the ICV cleaning), and there is a slight rattle in the tranny from the lightweight flywheel/performance clutch - a known issue which is easily resolved by keeping you foot on the clutch when in neutral.

What do you guys (and gals) think she's worth? I'll want to make at least what I bought her for ($18,890) plus mods I added and work performed ($1,080). I'm thinking of setting the auction "reserve" price to $20,000 with a buy-it-now of like $22,000. Do these figures sound reasonable? Unfortunately, after some research, older M3's are just not selling on eBay... Any ideas?

TIA,

Tony

Eric, it's not for sale yet, (might not be auctioned for a month or so) but you're welcome to see it! Send me an email and I'll give you contact info.

tscarola, didn't you buy this car just a few months ago? I think I posted a few times on your "I got an M3 and I'm so excited" thread. Sorry to see you part with it. I hope you enjoyed your few months with it.

Yeah I did buy it back at the end of March - and I have had some fun with her, but I think she might be better off with someone who has a little more time and $$. :) I will hate to part with her too, but with the return income I'll be picking up an older E30 (actually will buy that first) to be my new DD, so there's no rush to find the perfect next owner for the M3. Thank you!

I dunno, I have a very similar car to yours (97 3/4/5, 62k miles, lightly modded, needs nothing), and I would jump at $20k if it was for sale, which it's not. $20-22 may be a bit optimistic.

One thing's for sure, I'd not use ebay, especially since you wouldn't be in a hurry to sell the car. As you've seen, ebay seems to really undervalue these cars. I'd go to Autotrader or bf.c. or CCA classifieds if I were you. In either case, good luck finding your E30! :)
