I just heard about this, thought I pass on the info....

Hello,
This message is being sent out to members of Clubs representing the
following automotive makes: Audi, BMW, Karmann Ghia, Mercedes Benz,
Porsche, and VW. For reasons of privacy, I have addressed it via
"blind carbon copy". That way, I'm not giving your e-mail addresses to each other. Some addresses are public (posted on club web sites) and some are private.

Anyway, my name is Rodd Masteller and I am a board member of the
Central Ohio Section of the Mercedes Benz Club of America. Our local section has organized and is sponsoring an All German Car Show on Sunday, August 4th at the Wyndham Hotel in Dublin, Ohio. This is a "shine & show" type of event. Very informal, no concourse judging, it's just for fun and a little club publicity for everyone. Participants can enter the Clean Car and Best Of Show contests for $5, or they can enter as Display Only for free. It will be free admission for the viewing public. Cars can start arriving around 10:00am and Clean Car judging will begin around 12:00 noon. Best Of Show will be awarded by popular vote of all people at the show. Participants can bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages and the hotel has a nice restaurant. There will be grassy areas and paved parking lot areas to park your car in. There will be no loud music permitted because we don't want anyone offended by others. For basic information on where the show is, please visit:

This is the first such show our MBCA section has organized and it has 4 goals. First, we wanted to get together with the other clubs and get to know each other. Secondly, we should casually discuss ideas for improving and expanding the show. Third, we would like to discuss ways to promote membership for our clubs, including the publicity from this show. Finally and most importantly, we want to have a good time. Doesn't everyone?

We wanted to invite enthusiasts of all these automotive makes and their club members to attend. If time permits, please communicate this message out via your club newsletters, web sites, e-mail lists, or how ever your clubs communicate. I know this is short notice, but any assistance would be appreciated. I don't expect this to be a huge show, but I would like to see members from each club in attendance so we can meet and talk about our cars, clubs, and events. If you or your members have any questions or comments regarding the show, please e-mail me at rmasteller@columbus.rr.com and I will attempt to respond within 24 hours. I usually check my e-mail twice a day.

** Important note to Mercedes Benz enthusiasts: There will be a Tech
Session hosted by one of our local MB specialists on Saturday, August
3rd from 9:00am until we lose interest or daylight. It will primarily cover the w113 chassis (230/250/280SL), but enthusiasts of other MB models that use the same mechanical systems (250SE, 280SE, etc.) as the roadsters from the 1960's are more than welcome to attend. This will be an informal, come-and-go as you please, very hands-on session where the attendees can help dictate the agenda. For our dismantling enjoyment, there will be engines, transmissions, fuel injection pumps, and much more. Bring your garage clothes and be ready to get filthy! If you are interested in this Tech Session, please e-mail me for details!! If you are from out of town, we are already looking into hotel availability and rates in case you want to attend both events that weekend.

Thank you very much for your time and attention.

Sincerely,
Rodd Masteller
