Could someone please provide some experience-based guidance on two
aspects of low-profile tires/wheels: snow performance and
potential for chassis/suspension/wheel damage?
I'm considering buying a 325xi and I need to drive it in
snow but I also like high-performance in good road
conditions. I've read the disclaimers/warnings but
I'd like to hear from real people with real experience.
TIA!

well for what its worth, I have a 325i with low milage m3 suspension, full down to the sways and 3m rims with 225-40-17 and 245-45-17 coming from 205-60-15

The ride is rougher and a little louder. I can really hear the tires when the thread wears down, becomes very unbearable after a while.

Other than it looking real good, you'll deal with a harsher ride.

Good luck in your decision

As far as snow, if you have a set of all season tires on there with 18 or 17 inch wheels, and don't drive carelessly, you'll be fine. I went from 17s to 18s and the ride quality actually feels better. Just look out for pot holes etc and you'll be ok. Also, the quality of the rim matters as far as damage. Forged will be the strongest, but also cost the most.
