I've been using armorall wheel cleaner on my M countours, and it stripped all the clear coat off. I read the label today, and smacked myself in the head rather hard. It stripped it off over a period of 6 months so I didn't really notice it. Is there a way to reapply the clear finish? Are the wheels ruined?

TIA

There are places all over that refurbish rims. Don't use anything on your wheels but soap an simple green. clean with a sponges no brushes. and keep them waxed and the clear coat will last for years.

Definately wishing I knew that 6 months ago. Anyone have experience with getting their wheels finished? Possible cost?

My rims in the z had horrible curb rash on all four of the wheels. I got them repaired @ Morristown BMW at a cost of $550. I was satisfied with the results.

How did you all of a sudden notice the clear is gone? Got any pics of it? I'm just curious to see the extent on the damage.

don't feel so bad.. last year when I had my style 44s and was removing the grey side skirts, I accidently spilled some of that superd egreaser on the rims. they were powder coated chrome and they just bled like no other lol

Like I said, it slowly came off over a period of time. It's not really damaged, they just look a dull silver because of the lack of clear coat.
