what should i put in there and how much?
i havent looked under the car, but is there a standard drain plug on the bottom, and fill plig on top?
its a 92 325i auto
any help is appreaciated, thanks

there is a plug on bottom of rear diff cover and one in the middle. 15mm hex needed to get them out.
takes about 1.8qts. redline 75w90 gear oil recommended if you have a limited slip. redline 75w90ns if you don't.
you will need a little oil pump to get the oil into the fill hole. fill it until it comes out with car level.
easy job.

It's a 14mm hex bolt for both the fill plug and the drain plug. I just changed mine today, and I used 1.8 quarts of Mobil 1 75w90.

Always take out the top drain plug (fill plug) first, to make sure you can get it off. You dont want to take off the bottom plug, drain all your fluid out, then find out that your upper plug is stuck. Then you are left to sit and contemplate how such a simple job could go so terribly wrong :(
