I am thinking of putting a Magnaflow muffler on my 93 325i instead of spending $800+ on a cat back like Supersprint or UUC. Are most of the universal mufflers they make pretty much the same? I am leaning toward the oval ones instead of the round ones you see on Japanese cars. Not sure if they have different performance/flow. $300 vs $800 on a cat back. Recommendations?

I purchased DTM tips magna flows...It's been about 4 months since I've purchased this exhaust. I got custom pipes also and have taken out my resignator (if thats how you spell it) and it is quite loud...I like it...And i believe it does havea smiliar sound from the others....

I have both magnaflow cat and cat back with new tubing as well. I love it, it sounds so good.

I think I have the same muffler on my car...imo mufflers do not add any noticeable hp at all to our cars...maybe a supersprint might add 5 or so...I noticed a slight decrease of torque too.

I'd still recommend it though for the looks and sound....sounds good at idle, is rarely to loud and sounds great full throttle

magnaflow here too. sounds VERY nice. my only complaint is that it is a little raspy when the engine and exhaust is cold when you first start the car up.

i repleced the whole system back to stock the next morning.

i have a DTM Magnaflow for a 318/323 single inlet.

I will sell for cheap since I got it in a parts trade as a bonus.

make me an off.

you will need a y connector for your twin cat exhaust of the 325, but the muffler should work without a hitch.

I talked to magnaflow a while back and was told that they do not make a BMW specific application but that a universal would be ALMOST as good.

I then found a cheap M3 one to tie me over for a bit until I feel the need to dish out some $$ on a good one.
