View Full Version : Single Turbo Supra for sale/trade for M3/M5/Benz
I'm selling my '94 black/black 6spd single turbo Supra, and the reason I'm posting it here is because I'm looking for either a trade for an e46 M3, an e39 M5, or a '99ish MB CLK 430 +cash. For an outright sale, I'm looking for around $36,000. The car has 117k miles, and has made 615rwhp and 536tq at 26psi and extremely conservative tuning, and should do around 700rwhp at 30psi. Pretty much everything except for the shortblock has received attention; besides the mods listed below, other things that have been replaced since I've owned the car are the valve stem seals, cams, retainers, retainer keepers, valve cover seals, water neck seal, intake and exhaust manifold seals, coil packs, water pump, radiator and hoses, thermostat, clutch hub, rear hubs and bearings, all rotors and pads, and the power steering pump. I'm sure I am forgetting some things as well. The car has be corner-balanced, and weighs a scale verified 3343 lbs with a half-tank of gas (4.7lbs per hp at full boost). The only flaws on the car are a few small scratches in the paint, and the nose of the car needs to be repainted due to small rock marks from a small amount of track time. Outside of that, the car is extremely reliable, and *extremely* fast, like spinning the tires in third gear at 60mph kind of fast. Please send all serious inquiries to brad@dyno-might.net.

Holy mother of god that car is SCHWEEEEEET!
KEEP (and race it) or ban!
Hah, wow, thanks guys. I didn't really think it would get such a warm reception here. :)
I love the car, I just don't have time to use it to it's full potential (ie. driving to a road course from MS), so I'm looking to get out of it all together and upgrade the daily driver. Thanks again for all the compliments.

do you mean your car and cash or an e46 m3/ e39 m5/ 99 benz +cash?
do you mean your car and cash or an e46 m3/ e39 m5/ 99 benz +cash?
Well, I mean that I'll trade the Supra for a M3 or M5 of similar value for a straight trade, or the Supra for a '99ish CLK 430 +cash, since they sell for around $20,000 for that year. I would consider straight trades with the Supra for an E Class Benz of similar value, but not on the CLK since they depreciate so quickly. I apologize for any confusion on that.

Mileage has been added to the post, it's 117k, though you would never know it since most of the car's vitals have been replaced.

Was this an NA supra into which you installed a turbo kit?
Was this an NA supra into which you installed a turbo kit?
No, it had stock twin turbos from the factory. The boostlogic kit provided an exhaust manifold, oil lines, gaskets, intake, etc. for the single turbo conversion.

How much without the kilo of coke in the glovebox?
www.kbb.com has it for about $12,900 in good condition.
I could give you maybe 16k with all the extras you have on it.
Let me know, thanks

Stock twin turbo's put the car listed at 320bhp (though severly underrated as most dynos show its around or > 300 rwhp) but many Supra owners who go into modding the car prefer a big single turbo setup (usually in the 63 to 88 range) for very very large power numbers (anywhere from 500 to 1000+ rwhp) though usually at the cost of turbo lag. But hey, considering Supras get into 8's, 9's, and 10's all the time, you can't complain.
$5k can net you a turbo kit with exhaust and a few other accessories can take a stock TT Supra to around 450-550 rwhp easily.

Amusing perhaps to outside lookers, but check out Supraforums.com and you'll see that this is what the market is more or less at for Supra's
You won't find a twin turbo 6spd Supra for less than $20k unless its a salvage title/damaged - good luck finding a stock one with decent mileage or a heavily modded one for less than $28k
These cars just do not lose much value at all because of supply and demand..
Lets see what a few recent ads have been:
1000+ rwhp Supra 6spd $65k
97 T76 37k miles turbo 6spd $57k
27k mile unmodded 6psd $57k
80k mile TT 6spd light mods $30k
81k mile salvage 6spd light mods $21k
TT Auto 85kmiles $28.5k
yeah, some prices are crazy, but people pay for em, so more power to the owners

Sorry,
Being a dealer the clean ones that I have seen sell at auction with about 100k on them for $18k or so must have swayed me.
I did see one hit $31k last fall at Manheim, but it was a 1996 with about 30k or so miles on it and absolutely as new.

Are you sure those aren't auto's or N/A models?
Because I'm taking those prices from Supra forums which is pretty much where the Supra (enthusiats at least) community goes for selling their cars
You can find N/A models for less than $15k even and auto TT models routinely sell $5k+ less than a similar 6spd model

07-01-2005, 06:38 AM
Those are Manual tranny turbos. I'm not surprised at the high prices on supra forums, many "enthusiasts" seem to ask crazy money for their cars as sometimes witnessed here.
Have you been watching eBay? Look there as well.

Not to bash your thread but I never understood why Supra owners always ask so much for their cars. It is almost like they all got together and said let's try to get more for our cars than they are worth.
They should be in the same ballpark as 300zx tt and 3rd gen rx7 tt. I believe they all sold for similar money and are the same "type" of car.
However I will say your price does seem like it is in the ballpark of current asking prices. I am curious as to what the cars actual sell for though. My father in law has almost the same car and it is sick.

wow nice shi*ing on his FS thread
Holy crap, this thread has gone to hell. Look guys, if the car isn't worth what I'm asking to you, then don't buy it, but there is no need for such a debate in a FS thread. I feel the price I have quoted is in the ballpark for the current Supra market (hell, I've spent at least $20k in mods, the wheels alone were $3,800). I don't really feel a need to defend my set price or the value in the Supra market as a whole; if you don't get why the car is worth what it is, then that's fine, move on to the next ad.

Well, then im sure all e30 M3 owners got together and said "We should really sell our cars for 15k+" Despite the fact kbb says the cars worth about 5,000
People dont understand the rarity of these cars.
Ill bet you half the people sh*tting your thread have yet to ride in any kind of supra even so, a modded one.
Good luck with the sale bro.

I never shit on his thread. I said his price is in line with the market.
What I can't understand is why the market is where it is at. There were over 10,000 Supras imported and sold in the US. Not a high production car but certainly not rare. They may depreciate slower than other cars but they still depreciate.
Also if you have been watching e30 m3 prices have drastically dropped recently for normal mileage cars. Super low mileage are still holding their value but then again we are not discussing a super low mileage car here. Actually it is very high for a super modified sports car.
But either way his price is in line with the market and I am sure someone will buy his car. If I had unlimited funds I may even look at it.

I've had a ride in a Supra with a big single and words just can't do it justice. Too mean for a daily driver (coming from an STi owner) but incredibly fast, only car I ever thought I was really going to die in :buttrock
Goodluck with the sale, that car is just sexy, and those are probably the best looking rims I have ever seen on a Supra.

The Supra TTs are a lot better than the 300ZX and 3g RX7 IMO, they are a lot more stout for the most part and that is a big part as to why they fetch more money. Good luck with the sale, i dont think youll have a problem getting close to what your asking.
chewietobbacca

The Supra is a faster car than the 300ZX and RX7 and has shown insane engine reliability, debuted at a higher price, and are rarer as only 8000 or so TT models made it to the U.S. in that 5 year span - in fact, if you own a silver hardtop TT you have one of 17 in the U.S.

300ZX TT's and RX7 TT's have been bought buy kids and trashed. It's highly uncommon to see one in good condition nowadays. It's rare to see a Supra TT that isn't in good condition.

Yes, that is a high price, but this is a cult car. Timeless vehicles don't go down much in value. MKIVs, Sy/Tys, E30 M3s, GNXs, etc. I'd never pay this much for a supra, I'd take a 993 or E46 M3 over it anyday. On the other hand, I'd pay a ton of money for the right Syclone, so I understand the appeal. This car is most likely worth mid 30s to someone, he just has to be found.
Good luck to ya.
Edit: KBB should never be discussed in a thread like this. That guy should be banned for his ignorance.
I had a very serious offer based on my own market research with cash in hand. Try finding a bank to give you a loan for a price of a 100+k milaged car priced at 3x book value.
You should keep your comments about me to yourself!

i understand that its a cult car and all, and that it looks and performs great, but 36k?
If it is such a cult car then why even bother selling it on bimmerforums?
We have a cult car in the bmw world called the M3. In fact that is what the seller wants to get. I just don't see many M3 owners giving up the refinement and sophistication of the E46 M3 for a 10 year old supra even if it had 10000hp. I could never imagine buying a 10+ year old car with over 100k miles instead of a nice, used e46 M3. So perhaps for other supra fanatics this is an incredible deal, but for the majority of bmw owners, esp. m3 owners, why would we buy the car? Also, to me the Supra seems more of a racer car that appeals to those who go to late night street races and highway runs, but M3 owners seldomly need 800hp on the freeway, and dont race every car out there. How many ferrari owners do we see going all out all the time? Yet EVERY supra I see on the freeway wants to race me. i see myself getting flamed for this, but am presenting an opinion
Let's be realistic, unless there are supra fanatics here, and there aren't many, most will pass on this car. Why? ANYTHING on such a high peformance car can malfunction at any time esp. at this mileage...we all know that the more a car is modified, the more chance there is for something to go wrong.
If I had extra money, I wouldnt mind buying this car. Good luck to the seller in selling the supra and getting the M.

Well, it's what the seller wanted to get, until I test drove one the other day; no offense to you M3 guys, it just wasn't exactly all I expected it to be. Anyway, I agree with you, someone coming from an M3 to a modded Supra expecting the same driving experience would not be happy in the least... I guess I assumed that someone wanting this car would understand that he/she would basically be getting a street driven track car.
