First, I'd like to thank everyone for the information on detailing products and detailing techniques.

I just finished detailing my 98 M3. Please look at the pics and let me know what you think! Pics can be found at:

http://www.chrisnebraska.com/BMW-M3.htm

The steps that I performed were:

Wash
Clay
Wash
3M FI2
Klasse AIO
P21S

I couldn't be happier with the results. I just recently purchased a Porter Cable 7424 with the Wolfgang pad and backing plate kit. This device is amazing. I applied the FI2 with the orange light cutting pad, and the Klasse with the white polishing pad. I also tried Detailing Pride's Spray Carnauba wax. I used this in between steps to clean the surface. This stuff far exceeded my expectations. It is far superior to Maquire's Final Inspection. I think it produces a better shine, and it is also a lot easier to remove. It doesn't smear, smudge, or leave streaks. Thanks autogeek.net. I applied the P21S by hand and removed all the products with Cobra Microfiber towels.

I am not finished with the detail. I still need to dress the trim, as well as clean and dress the wheels/tires. I may post more pics tomorrow when i am finished with the whole process.

Also, I will be selling this car soon. If anyone is interested, stay tuned. I will create another post.

Thanks everyone on Bimmerforums!

Hate to be the one to say it, but I think the paint looks a little dule. The condition of the paint looks good, but after using FI2 you should use a good polish.

I use FI2 and Meguirs Scratch X, and works like a charm.

Looks really good regardless..

Selling the car because I am going to buy a new M3. Not sure of the price yet, I haven't even thought about it.

To the paint looking Dull comment (not Dule). You may be thinking that because you have the image of a car that is painted Jet Black. This paint is Cosmos Metallic Black, which looks very different than Jet Black. I've parked this car next to many Jet black and Cosmos black BMW's, and the Cosmos black almost looks grey, and dull for that matter, next to jet black. In person, the paint looks very sharp, deep, and shinny.

I heard the scratch X works really well with FI2, I may have to try that next time. Thanks for the info!
