Not really. It's only really easier if the car is really dirty. Or you have a big ass truck.
Washing by hand is 10 times easier when you have just recently detailed and waxed you car. This is the easiet, and safest in my opinion. I personaly have seen powerwashers make tiny rock chips turn into huge ones.

Ditto.
The only vehicle I have used a powerwasher on was a Ford Excursion because dirt was caked into the seams of the plastic. I would NOT use it on anything else.

I've seen BMW dealerships that wash all the cars on their lots with a powerwasher. These are both new and CPO/used cars. I assume if used correctly, they are safe...

Is it one of those 2000 psi pressure washers? I wouldn't consider that a good idea, As a matter of fact, most people serious about detailing wouldn't even use the full 80 psi from their garden hose.

I wouldn't use a pressure washer. Actually I would...for the wheel wells, but that is as far as it goes.
~ You could get it detailed and keep a fresh coat of wax on the car (wax every other week? or at least once a month). It makes cleaning up mud and bugs a lot easier.

Only if you don't want to blast the dirt and grime into your paint or remove the wax layer...
PW's are good for certain jobs...cleaning decks, tile, concrete, the occasional embedded brake dust covered wheel. I wouldn't use them on a waxed car or a car whose paint you want to preserve.

I would use a pressure washer only if I had no other source of wash water.
If you must use the pressure washer, you should use a tip that makes a fan-shaped spray. Keep the tip at least 3-4 feet away from the car so that only a gentle spray hits the paint. Blasting the car with the pressure washer will drive dirt particles into the paint and cause painted edges to start peeling.
