Different licence plate, they took it off when I was there and replaced it with an american holder. Carfax said 2 owners both from california. Why the long bracket. No lights for plates, hmm. What's up with that. They said I can take it and have someone look at it but want it to be close, so there's not a lot of miles put on it, what ya think.

I think the bumper guards look tacky...
About the license plate, maybe they decided to take off the plate lights when they put the Euro one on, so that it'd fit. :dunno They should still have the plate light housings.
Other than that, if a thorough inspection and carfax come back with good news, I say go for it. Try to lower the price to around $25k

another possibility: Maybe its a Canada or European import that someone owned in CA (consulate car? we have a few of those here in HI). I have a hard time believing someone put a euro rear hatch on the car on a whim. Check to see if the motor is an S50, or ask for a pic of the VIN plate ont he driver door area.
Its an off chance, but you might possibly have something very special there.
and yes, the bumperettes are really lame...

The car looks okay, based off the photo. Hope those rub strips can be stripped off.
Things to ask:
- photo of the inside of the seats, to see if there is any wear.
- door panels
- rear trunk area
- engine bay
- VIN #
- dash with engine on so you can see the miles.
Hope this works out for you.
