hey guys im new here and this is the first german car my family has gotten. I was looking at a 2005 GTO but i ended up with a '02 530i sports/prem. etc. instead. my other cars are a chevy blazer, and a street/strip stock appearing 12sec '71 GTO. I have to say i was sad i didn't get the GTO but this BMW is awesome. When i get out of college a M3 will def be in the driveway instead of the ZO6 i was planning on.

anyways im sure this has been covered but everytime i try to search through the archives i get server busy so here it is.

I want to put the M5 exhaust and rear bumper. Whats the best way to do this, get a stock M5 exhaust and weld in onto a Y from the stock single pipe? Will it fit under there. Or should i just get a dual outlet muffler and get custom tails to go to the outlets in the bumper?

I DEFINATELY don't want to eff with the tuning because it seems so perfect, and i DO NOT want to void warranty.

Welcome and congrats on the new car.

There are some kits out there (some on ebay) for the dual exhaust mod, though, if you want to do it right, go with a DINAN system. DINAN products will not void your warranty.

As far as the bumper, I have heard "Mspecs" on the board here can get the M5 bumpers (OEM) at good prices.

Good luck.

The quad exhaust is pretty difficult in normal E39s because of the spare wheel well. If you look under the car, you'll see it blocks the most logical route for the exhaust to go. You can go around it, but it is not pretty. Also, I'm pretty sure that changing the rear bumper will void the warranty, as will the exhaust work.

Huh. Chalk up another mark against the dealer knowledge, then. My mistake.

i see AznAir23 has the quad tips, it doesn't have to be factory M5 just something similar and mean looking
