Does anyone have pics of the differences between a 94 and below 325i and a 95 and above? I've heard there are slight differences in the nose....

Thanks everyone...btw, anybody from the Twin Cities, Minnesota area?

Not sure about the '95 change, but '98 (or was it '97?) was an engine change and rebaged. Kinda cool having the only mis-numbered BMW (please correct me if I'm wrong, b/c I don't really know, but would like to).

Dude, are you serious??

There was no 325 after 95. In 97+ E36's the nose panel and the front kidneys were updated. Just search around you'll find out EVERYTHING you could ever want to know about E36's here.

Well the 323 was the replacement for the 318. It did have a 2.5L inline 6 though.

Also the 323 was introduced to NA in 98 model year.

the pic doesnt do it justice. its too small. when you see the cars in real life, atleast to me, theres a huge difference.

Really? I thought 323 was introduced to help show the engine change to the M52 and was the replacement for the 325 with the M50s.

No because the 328 was the replacement for the 325.

But the 328 was actually a 2.8, while the 323 was a 2.5 and should have been the re-emergence of the 325, but BMW wanted to show that it wasn't the same old 325. They just got rid of the 318 altogether.

I'm aware, BMW wanted to replace the 325 with a more powerful powerplant, along with the 318. The 325 was moved up to 328, and the 318 was moved to the 323. Why do you think the 323 has a lower number than that of the 325?? It just doesn't work that way. Trust me on this one.

Ok, like I said I wasn't sure about this, but it didn't make sense to me that the 323 would have a 2.5 and be an upgrade to the 318. Deep down, it's still a misnumbered 325, and it's still the only misnumbered one, aside from the 540's, which are 4.4's if I'm not mistaken (again).

Yea its weird, but thats how it goes. I PERSONALLY consider the 323 to be the replacement to the 325, but its not according to BMW. They released it as a replacement for the 318. Funny, becuase the 323 is quicker 0-60 than the 325 too, even though it has less hp and weighed more.

Really? Hah, well that just made my day again. My car has some pep, not smokin, but peppy. I really enjoy it. Not sure if I posted here, but maybe somewhere else, but I drove an E46 M3 and I freakin love that car. I want one so bad. Alright I'm gonna quit before I get too far off topic.
