The BMW 6 CD Changer in my 93 325i got stuck today. Displays..."DISC ERROR" and just keeps on showing that. The CD was burned like 6 months ago and I had no trouble playing it earlier nor I had any trouble like this ever...even on burned CDs. I turned it off/ on several hundred times...tried to change CD (by pressing buttons)...nothing helps. I hope somebody has a solution to this. thanks in advance.

Hey everyone I'm having the same problem. The magazine is jammed in my CD Changer. Its an Alpine factory 6 disc changer. I think I'm going to bust the whole thing trying to get it out! Please help with any advice!
Thanks

Same thing happened to me on a 94 325. You have to press the cartridge eject button on the CD changer several times to get the CD cartridge to come out. You' ll find the changer has loaded two CDs and has jammed the loading mechanism. This "fix" will last a month or so, then another jam will happen.
I heard someone completely solved the struck CD problem by disassembling the changer and cleaning all contacts and circuit board. As the changer is pretty old, I'm just going to replace with an aftermarket CD changer(Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer) using an adapter (BMWPIO).
Can anyone recommend an aftermarket CD changer? Do you know if the changers that support MP3 will play on the factory head unit?

I have a 1992 325i and this just happened to me recently. I have the factory cd changer and pushing eject wouldn't eject the magazine. What I did was I took the cd changer apart pretty much and pushed the cd back into the changer. You might ruin the cd but who cares - the changers worth more. Once you force it in the magazine, the magazine will eject. Make sure though that you take the cd changer off from the hanger and support it in your trunk with like a box or something. Second remove the fuse. Good luck and if you have any questions pm me.

Still got a problem with my changer.
There is no CD stuck, the head unit says DISC ERROR. If i hit eject the changer makes a noise and the magazine doesn't eject. I was able to pry the magazine out, but when i put it back in and hit eject, nothing but a noise again.
Can someone with a factory BMW changer for the earlier 3 series help me?? It's a Alpine cd changer.
Does anyone know if there is supposed to be any lights or anything on the CD changer that illuminate or anything to tell you everything is connected?
Any wires to look at?
What should i do?
The local car audio place's website charges $110 to fix car cd players, so i'm thinking a 6 disc will be even more, and i don't want to pay that!
help
thanks

Guys,
I had this problem on several occasions in my 99 M3. It was a simple fix under warranty, though, so no big deal. Recently, I sold the car and put a new system in my new car. I found this changer:
http://www.carreview.com/pscCar,Audio/Disc,Changers/Pioneer,CDX-P1250/PRD_21903_1812crx.aspx
Take a look at the second page of user reviews - he integrated it into his 2000 3-series, so it's easy enough to do, even with the factory head unit. (Not sure about disks 7-12, though, although there is a 6-disc model available.)
I got mine off of Ebay for about $180.
Best of luck.
