Hi all, new to the forum and the world of BMW. Wife and I are seriously considering buying a 325i (pre-owned), we have done some research but as you know it's never ending. We found what we consider to be a "good deal" it's a 1995 BMW 325I, owner says the following, "95K mi, air bag, abs, ac, ps, cc, lthr, p/seats, p/windows, stereo, pdl, p/mirrors, sunroof, Runs great! New susp & cooling. Clean int., $7,700" Here is a couple of pics.

Is the price to high or about right? I know it's hard to say without actually seeing the car in person and test driving it but like I said earlier in the post, I am new to BMW and want to get some opinions from seasoned owners. Any and all input is welcomed. Apologies for the long post.

Of course, all E36's have all of the thiings listed. Manual tranny? Looks clean...and find out what "New susp & cooling" mean. Iwould have a mech check it out but seems like a good deal give or take.

Make sure that the cooling system problems have already be dealt with or be ready to drop over 1 grand by the time it hits 110k. If its auto, look for another car, the automatic transmissions in e36's slow the car down alot and arnt as reliable as the manuals. You will always regret it if you buy an auto, anyone who tells you otherwise owns an automatic and is in denial ;) :D
Just as a rule of thumb i wouldnt spend over 7 grand on a 325. For 8 grand you could get a 328.

Having a certified BMW mech go over it is gonna be must, I've already contracted one to look at any possible "buys" that we are interested in. As far as it being an auto, I prefer the manual but since the wife is gonna be the one behind the wheel most of the time ... ah screw it it's gonna be a manual tranny. Thanks for the reply's. I will post some pics of the final buy when it happens.

that's not a very smart thing to say ... you're in SoCal and the price of a car can vary alot depending on the condition and so forth.
remember that cleaner, better maintained cars w/ low miles will always sell at a premium, so don't go out there and expect all 325s to sell for 7k or below, regardless of mileage and condition. You get what you pay for ...
And yes, definitely get the car inspected at a good BMW shop.

Not smart to say that I haven't considered a 328?
Prices do vary here in socal (2k-10k) we are very cautious and in no rush to buy so time is on our side. We feel confident that we will find a decent 325i in our price range soon.
