BIMMERFEST EAST 2002
I.C.E. Competition Judging Criteria

Welcome to Bimmerfest East 2002. This year, a separate category for In-Car Entertainment has been added and is sponsored by Sirius Satellite Radio. Since installations are extremely subjective, we are using a set of guidelines based on the IASCA (International Autosound Challenge Association) competition forum. The judging will be performed by a former IASCA World Champion and certified IASCA judge (4 times finals judge). Sound fair enough?

Please realize that the judging will not be as critical as you would find in the IASCA judging lanes. Our main purpose at Bimmerfest East is to have fun. It is also going to be beneficial and may help many take their systems to the next level. The main portions we will be concentrating on are SAFETY! Here are the judging categories.

Attention to Detail
This section concentrates on the cleanliness of the vehicle. As with many going to car shows, the vehicle should be clean inside and out! Also judged here is the final appearance of the system and how well the system fits into the vehicle.

If you have pictures of the installation, show it! You will get points

This category scores points for presentation. You will not be judged on the presentation itself, but if you give one (good or bad), it helps. The more you know about your system, the higher you will score.

This category is weighted the highest!!! It is 30% of the score sheet total

Source Units / Amplifiers / Speakers / Other Devices
This is where your head unit, amps, speakers, and processors are scored. It will be split up into two categories for each section – Installation Integrity and Cosmetic Integration

Installation Integrity relates to the physical mounting of components and safety factors (i.e. cooling, ventilation for amplifiers; ease of system use; fusing; protection of speaker (grills).

Cosmetic Integration relates to how the components are visually integrated into the vehicle. Some will have highlighted systems and some will have “stock” systems (i.e. components installed in factory locations). Scoring is the same for both types of systems.

Wiring
This just checks proper fusing and wiring. This category is also important. We are not going to ask you to take things apart. Pictures are helpful. If the judge can’t see the wiring, you will receive an average score. If the judge can see it, make sure it is protected and properly fused or you will lose points.

Overall Creativity
What have you done that the other competitor has not? What is unique about your system? Tell the judge!
