Chili Red w/ white top and mirrors, sport package with front fogs, rear spoiler, DSC, sport seats and 16" wheels w/ run flat tires.
Miles on the odometer: 150
After 1.5 days of owning my Cooper and putting on 100 miles, these are my impressions.
Handling
Impressive handling, just like a go kart. A little bumpy when it comes to those undulations on freeways. Tight steering with cat quick reflexes. No torque steer upon heavy acceleration. The S does have mild torque steer, however. Those sport seats really hold you in!
Brakes
Great stopping power! However, the brakes do emit LOTS of dust.
Acceleration
A quick, sprightly little car. If you're in gear and pulling less than 2k on the tach, the car is laboring. It loves the 4k+ zone, but not supposed to pass 4500 for the 1st 1200 miles.
Stares
Many, many, many! It's an attention grabber and a babe magnet.
Maintenance
What can I say, free scheduled maintenance for 3 years/36k. Warranty for 4 years/50k.
Miscellaneous
Can't get the premium package since it comes with the dual sunroof. Doing so would negate your ability to install the British flag sticker on the roof!

How about a few pictures?
Have you had any problems with the size of the footwell?? I was reading on mini2.com and a bunch of guys over there had complaints about the size of the footwell, and on MotorWeek they were sayin the footwells were small.... I have size 14s and I could fit my feet down into the pedals with no trouble though :dunno

Cat farm? No, but there are a bunch of feral cats that live here. Last count there are 12+ adults and some kittens running around. Gave 2 away now I have to tame the rest of the kittens so when I take them to the Humane Society, they'll be adopted! Don't know where the unfixed cats came from cause all of the cats here have been fixed and tagged!
Those cats are an interesting bunch as they are prejudiced. The majority of the cats are black, so when the black and white ones come by, they don't let them eat until later!

Great car, awesome pics!!!! We were up in Princeton this weekend and spotted a similar looking one at the BMW/Mini Dealer up there, red with white top. Very cool!
How would a 6'1"/6'2" guy like me fit into one, in your guestimation???
The Beastmaster

Dave,
You'd fit with room to spare!

How's the back seat room in case that babe magnet thing works out for you? :)
What was that about a premium package and a sun roof? I did a build sheet (to take to the dealership), and I put on every darn package, including the 'panaramic' sunroof'. It let me do that, no problem. I want a sun roof... 'cause I am a roadster person at heart!

The panaramic sunroof didn't allow him to put on the UK sticker on the roof

Yup, that's why I don't want a sunroof. Also, it gets VERY hot with that sunroof and it takes away from the rigidity of the chassis.
Hmmm. Understood.
I was going to get the blue interior with hopes it wouldn't get so hot.

Well Bryan's Cooper will be hot regardless because he lives way way way way over in Hawaii (I am jealous, I loved it over in Hawaii) and it gets quite hot there :)
...oh and it will be hot because it is a chick magnet as well ;)

It definitely is a babe magnet! I'm just glad I'm not in SF as it may attract unwanted attention!

You think YOUR Cooper is going to get hot!? Holy crap man, I ordered Cosmos with Cosmos roof and black interior... ahhh!! It'll be sweet though...

Hey Kyle, where is your car gonna be? In Jersey or So. Cal?
I don't care much (at all!) about my car being a chick magnet. :D I just want THIS 'chick' to love it!
:D :D :D
The order is in process... :)

I ordered if from Princeton MINI (in NJ), and thats where I'm getting it (yesssss, 6 weeks to go)... I'll tool around there for my remaining year of hs then... ROAD TRIP!! Where I'm going to college, thats where it'll go (unless I get into Stanford... they don't let freshman park... damn them) It'll definately see alot of California sun though, since I do still sort of live here.... sort of

I drove by Princeton BMW/Mini over the weekend, they had 5-6 Mini's out there, 2 reds (white roofs) and yellow (black roof) and some others.... :boink

Yeah, when I was talking to them on the lot they told me that they were ALL accounted for  There was a yellow S with a black roof there that I could have gotten, but they said it was accounted for... if its still there when I get back.... we'll have words.

They have quite a few just sitting there, if they are "accounted for"...
