Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury,
i am a nOOby. I was chasing the E36 M3 and i thought i was going to settle on one for sure. Then one day some acursed magazine made its way into my hands and there i saw an E46 328Ci- it was well done with a HARTGE kit. :buttrock
what i am looking for is: Powerful, yet some mercy when it comes to gas milage. i am not looking to heavily modding the car.
however, where i live there are great chances of the car being stolen, damaged, etc. i would go ape in any case (a ding, dent, scratch.) also a factor cause i would not mind so much if a 328 was dented, but a M3?! :mad
i just wanted some feedback from owners of E36 M3 owners as well as people who own/owned an E46 328Ci. just want to know there impressions of the ride, quality, maintenance, etc.
the particular model yr for the M3 was 97-99 with the bells and whistles. E46 would be perf. and premium pack. they range +18k to 23k.
i would greatly appreciate any feedback. thanks people

I lived in jersey, live in the philly area now. When in jersey, my car was keyed while at some bar. Everytime I wax it, I find a new door ding/roof ding (no idea how I get those, it isn't ever under a tree). Unless you have gobs of money laying around (I don't), it's just a fact of life you have to learn to live with. I like the M3, but have never ridden in an e46. I'd say at this point, if you can get an e46 with a warrenty, that's certianly better than not having one (unless you know your way around a car).

Sorry to hear that- i don t understand the roof dings either. however, on the subaru there haven't been any roof dings. instead it was molested by some punk fool that tore away at the passenger side door lock and handle with a screw driver. needless to say they @#$% the door up pretty well but didn t get inside.
the warranty is another plus to getting a 328. i also figured i might get the 328 keep it for a yr or 2 until the E46 M3 drops a little more in value...
thanks for the reply.
