On my way home today on 202 i noticed another silver e36 m3 a few cars ahead of me. I decided to catch up to him to see if he wanted to have a go. I made my way through traffic and put down my window...he looked like he's in his late 20's with his friend in the car but on his cell phone and gives me a nod...o well i think, guess he won't wanna race since he's on the phone. i stay next to him for as long as i can before traffic comes up and move on.
Next thing you know, i'm at a red light with noone next to me (he must've gotten caught up). Then i look in my rearview and see him coming up next to me. i put the windown down again, this time he's off the phone. He asks what year my car was i said 97 and he says his is a 98. I asked him if he had any mods and he said no :( .
Just before the light turned green, i say you wanna race? at that very second the light turns green and he takes off. Takes me a second to react but i immediately floor it. By the end of first, I was ahead of him by 1 car length. By the end of 2nd, ahead by around 3 cars, and by third, many car lengths. :redspot
Once we slowed up because of traffic i talked to him again and the first thing he said was "It's auto" :( .
I know it's not much of a task to beat a stock auto m3 vert with a passenger with the power mods I have (UUC UDP's, Dinan stg. 5, aa exhaust, green gizmo, and a ssk, as well as lightweight rims,Kosei k1's) but it was still a kill. It was the first time i have raced another m3 in a while so I just thought i'd post.

uhh..a kill is a kill? racing a m3 with no mods and auto, with your mods, is like picking on a silly civic. :rolleyes nice run though! :buttrock

Don't you need more mods than that to have the Dinan Stage 5 programming such as OBD I manifold (or Shrick), larger TB, etc?

An auto M3 Vert, sounds like a car for the wife to drive. :cool

I have intake, big bore throttle body, schrick manifold, 3.5 HFM, and of course the dinan stg. 5 software. Just didn't feel like writting it out.
I agree...auto m3 vert is not very manly.
