anyone ever hear of this? let alone use it? K&N site provides a dyno chart and everything and the kit even comes with a heat shield... looks decent and claims a 8.66bhp gain..

turns out they just released it in february of this year... and sells for $239 (best deal i found) on crutchfield.com of all places... i may have to give this a try, the link above is very detailed as far as install and the dyno chart looks pretty good

That's pretty cool. I wanted an ECIS but didn't really care for the fact that it wasn't a K&N filter. I already have the K&N recharge stuff. Maybe I'll get one. Has anybody here bought one?

I was also on the K&N site yesterday and wondered why nobody was using this. I've seen pictures of people's CAI's that go into the bumper, and those things get DIRTY. I'm not sure I want my air filter to put up with that much debris... I'm paranoid about dirt getting into the motor somehow... So I was thinking either this or that other carbon fiber short intake that is very popular. ...

Persiandude,
I just ordered it for my 328is. My bro put one on his Lexus GS400 and I was very impressed with the quality. Did you order it? If so, how is it?

Anyone know if it is carb legal? The site didn't seem to get into specifics and just says that "most" of these intakes are.

any intake for our car is going to be similar....all a Cold Air Intake is is a large filter, heat shield, and a bracket/hose to connect the filter to the HFM/TB...it can't get much different and the performance is going to be around the same for every one!
